This is the real fix for everyone.

Follow the readme file, follow the instruction on the screen and the game runs just fine.

To succeed on calibration, first of all set your controls in jconifg as it says on readme file (if dinput doesn't work try xinput)

Go to test mode then to I / O test and then Acel / Brake calibration.

Then press gas and release it (as it says o the screen) and then do the same for the brake.

Now leave the Test mode and voilá enjoy the game.

Stop being lazy. It's easier to just ask and wait for an answer than try your options, read the files, read your screen before making a question that is already answered.

Sorry for the hard words but I'm just tired of reading a topics with a lot of repeated questions answered before.

This just makes the topic bigger and spammer and when you want to find an answer for a real question you have to walk for a 40 page topic and skiping 30 page of spam questions.

The problem with this is that some issues don;t get real attention. I get to the boot Loading screen, then it goes to screen calibration. I hit test button and everything and it doesn't recognize anything. Then goes to network and crashes. I don;t see anything in the forums addressing that.

Coucou

Allez a l'adresse : 000107e0

Even with the new patched exe in this thread and the new patch yesterday of TeknoParrot that claims to skip the steering calibration, when I start game it is still asking me to calibrate.  Why?

You will have to calibrate and save once in the test menu

When it checks for left right hold in that direction till finished

Posté(e)

I have Xbox one controller.  With xinput, I can calibrate and it works but it never saves.   I have to calibrate every time and it is a showstopper, even it latest TP.  With dinput it doesnt work at all.

Try this

Works for me with steering wheel

Calibrate and save once in service menu

Yes, the gameorig.exe is the version I am using as it is the only version that is accepted by TP.   But the calibration won't save.

Posté(e)

Dont know if it is pure fluke i copied across the sv folder from the windows 7 rar folder ((для windows 7 64)CHASE HQ 2 TTX) into the game folder and if you use the game.exe and not gameorig.exe it does not get stuck on the calibration screen.

And if you are getting the tiny game window untick DIRECT3d9 wrapper in jconfig you will now get full screen.

Hi,

@MrThunderwing, may be this is interesting for you

Disassembling the exe, there are 4 IP(s) addresses

192.168.65.110 to 192.168.65.113

else I think you can try to hex edit the exe to match your network config by replacing these IP(s) with your network IP(s)

This should work...

++

Did anyone get this to work?  I tried it and it still does not link.   Also tried changing the IP's to static IP's starting with 192.168.0...   That did not work either.   Anyone got LAN play working?

Does anyone have one working with TP?

Yes sir! Works great even in multiplayer. You got issues?

Latest version of TP works great now! It used to have some problems couple versions earlier.

Anyone interested in playing Chase HQ 2 in HD on Teknoparrot?

After some trial and error I got working settings with no glitches that I have noticed:

Using Openparrot v1.0.0.219 (latest)

Settings below(In text format and screenshot):

Using DGVoodoo v2.63.2 (latest at time of posting)

General settings:

Output API: Direct3D 11 (feature level 11.0)

Full Screen Output: Default

Appearance: Full Screen

Miscellaneous: "Keep window aspect ratio" and " Capture mouse" checked

All other boxes unchecked

DirectX Settings:

Videocard: GeForce FX 5700 Ultra

VRAM: 256 MB

Texture Filtering: Force Antriscopic 4x

Resolution: 1920 x 1080

Disable Mipmapping: Checked

Antialaising (MSAA): 4x

All other boxes unchecked

Copy the following files from dgVoodoo to the root game rom folder (DLLs must be x86 versions):

dgVoodooCpl.exe

D3D8.dll

D3D9.dll

D3DImm.dll

DDraw.dll

dgVoodoo.conf (I create this locally within the game rom folder)

Note: x64 DLLs will not work on this game

These settings have my NVidea Geforce  GTX 1070 discrete GPU loaded at approx. 50%

Thanks for the Chase HQ settings gazdaman. They work really well.

I can not seem to get force feedback working however as it uses a different d3d9.dll file. Any ideas please? Thank you.

Here's the solution:

Menu start right click, menu "applications and features"

Select "programs and Features" in the upper right corner

In the new window on the left, "Turn Windows Features On or Off"

In "Legacy Components", check "Direct Play"

We are forced to calibrate right? I tried, and it does steering wheel left and right and I don't touch anything but it fails. I have a steering wheel.

Maybe that's where the problem lies. So instead of not touching anything, keep holding your Steering Wheel to the left as soon as the words "Steering Left" appear on screen until the message disappears again. Right after that you're doing the same procedure with "Steering Right", and then...open sesame! :-)

After calibration is done and the game is booting, just ignore the notice "Calibration Failed" which might appear on the "Handle Calibration" screen after that. Chase HQ 2 will fully work nonetheless.

Note: I don't have a steering wheel, but it's obvious that the calibration process always remains the same, no matter if it's getting handled with an XBox 360 Controller (as in my case) or with a Steering Wheel (as yours).

Yeah I had to search the site and someone else said this, it worked. It's weird that the game says do not touch the wheel but you actually have to touch it, but whatever gets the game to work I am happy.

Excellent! Looks really good now! I cannot seem to recall but there was a key where you could change the look of the game from the gouraud shading look to a different one. Can't remember which one it was?

This methodology can apply to other games as well? Correct?

EDIT: Doing so you lose FFB. But man the game look sharper!

Hey I tried using voodoo and set it up as your image. I loaded the game but i cant calibrate the steering at all. Even when i use a keyboard still wont setup. So it wont let me get pass the menu to load the game. What am doing wrong? So frustrating.

you have to hold the wheel in the direction it asks you to in the set up, say do not touch wheel but this is lies :P

I did try doing that but for some reason it doesnt recognize my steering wheel when i load the game. Ive calibrated the controls in jconfig with no issues but when I load the game the steering wheel doesnt work. Ive tried switching to xinput and dinput but still with no success. So frustrating. Steering wheel works on other games so i know it works. Ive even tried using the keyboard. I can move up and down and enter works. But when i go into steering calibration i tried pushing left on the arrow and then right on the arrow and it fails also is there anything else i can do?

Also when i load the game from game.exe it gives me an IOError:libraly. Anybody know what that is?

Its giving me an error for other emulator already in use. What do i do for that?

Also if I run just the game.exe file it gives me a network checking error then crashes. Or if i run the gameorig.exe file that gives me an IO Error. WTF.

Why doesn't it just woooooorrrrrrk. I'm running windows 7 x64.

I tried it on my windows 10 computer just to see and that works fine. :$
