as of today(9/1/2020), this version (2016021900) works fine! I used SpiceTools to configure the button inputs. Thank you!

 

i also downloaded it with no issues and no mega subscription needed. just make an account and start download. it will get about 90% finished then it'll have you wait ~8 hours to complete the download. if you wanna bypass that, i guess you can buy low tier subscription but, i just waited it out...

 

i'd suggest at least making an account because it will keep better track of the download transfer progress. (if you dont have an account and it loses track, you'll have to start all over :/ take it from me, lol).

Edit2: Doesn't seem to have Din Don Dan... Maybe theres an unlock code? Or maybe its too old for it? Guess I'll download the 2016 version.

Edit3: huh you can change the menu to english by editing the ea3 config <dest> from J to A.

Edit4: This game refuses to run properly on laptops, works totally fine on desktop. Think this might be a common problem..

I hope someone can dump the latest data for Dance Evolution. I just went to GameStop and bought a used Xbox 360 Kinect Sensor for the game. Works great, but had a hard time playing it in fullscreen until now.

I am using KDM-2016021900 with SpiceTools (running through spice.exe and set up with the Dance Evolution profile in spicecfg) and I am getting the grey screen as if I didn't install the Jun 10 DXSDK and Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package. I have installed both of those (uninstalling existing 2010 Visual C++ first) onto the same drive that the game is located in, but I still get the grey screen. I do not currently have the Kinect set up, do I need to do that for it to display? I didn't want to order a Kinect until I could at least see if I could get the game to start first.

Damn someone should really do an updated guide, because I just spent like an hour figuring out SpiceTools. Now I feel more safe playing this game this way since before I used the shady as fuck Chinese eaLocalServer.exe and gameboot.bat file, yikes. Everything works perfectly and my performance is better, only thing not working is the E-Amusement thing but I don't care about that feature.

 

Does anyone know how to change the resolution of the game? When I play it in fullscreen mode is goes to 1280x720p when my screen is 1366x768p.

I checked kinect studio and my kinect works.

It works with no fuss on my laptop. Annoyingly it crashes during gameplay and has no sound when connected to HDMI.

So anyone with complicated setups get this to work? I have multi monitor, different sound card and it seems the Spice or this game hates it (along with DDR A20). I noticed the game was finicky when I disabled the default sound card (HDMI sound out was still there, so there was a sound output method) on my laptop and refused to run. At least the game works well now on my laptop when I forced my laptop to use the graphic card.

Nice guide but why is using spicetools bad? I feel like its safer because you dont need to run the localserver thing plus spicetools gives you many options for the game itself. Still looking for info on how to change the resolution of the game BTW...

Din Don Dan is in the game files. (contents\data\sound\dind.xwb) So yes, there should be some unlock codes that will enable it.

EDIT: I ran the game in event mode using spicetools and I think all the songs are unlocked. Using ealocalserver gave me an error about the coin machine.

Tried to scan card but it shows an error message: The connection is busy. Try again later.

Any way to fix this?

 

EDIT: Nvm, just found out ealocalserver doesn't save score.

Is there any e-amusement private server or program to save score?

Here are my specs. This is a 2011 $400 desktop, and it gets as low as 25 fps, which I guess is playable.

 

You can view fps in spicetools using F12

It runs with graphical glitches on my 2017 i5-7200U laptop with Intel HD graphics at super low fps.

 

This game has serious graphics requirements. Integrated graphics won't cut it.

I disabed all the "HID-compliant consumer control device" and "HID-compliant vendor-defined device" and now it works.

spicecfg also starts working after that. It used to just keep leaking memory until it crashes.

Ended up buying all the DLC for the 360 version. haha just costumes but whatever.

I got 42 fps with 8250U.
You should get 60fps with Ryzen 2500u or above.

Yea the GPU was quite cutdown back then with the i5s but I think I got higher fps on m7 6y75 (HP elite x2) than i5 8250u on Dead or Alive 5.

Found spice tools here:

Moved the directory in the \Dance Evolution\KDM-2016021900\contents\ folder

and ran the Spice.exe.

 

Ran the localizer and tried to run it:

Don't run local ea emulator with spice. Run only spice. Also, you will need to have just one network adaptor enabled in control panel. Ethernet disappears if disconnected so you would need a wireless adaptor if you don't have ethernet. The wireless adaptor doesn't need to be connected to anything but you need wlanautoconfig running before starting the game.
