dont know... same thing happens to me with the release version. The W7 version gives me a dashboard error. I found a working dashboard, but then it gave a cant read the disk error in the dashboard... not an emulator error. Outrun was giving me a drive board not connected error.

I got this. I saw a github post that dashboards greater than 4920 are not supported, so i found an older one. but then i got this.

I can launch all the games except the Wangan ones, with the Yaca version (The release version runs into memory allocation errors and the debug one just doesn't launch anything). 

Some games doesn't go far (crazy taxi, Outrun special tours, sega golf,...), some have major graphical issues (ollie king) but they all at least start the bios.

 

The Wangan games are not and I just get an error message

I wonder why it happens only with these games and why nobody else has reported this issue here (Am I the only one with this error ?)

 

Anyway, I do understand that these CXBX forks are very WIP and I will patiently wait and hope for new versions. A big thank you to the devs and to Hippo, The Chihiro emulation has been neglected for too long and it is great to see something happening now.

This is because you have to put the files in the A folder of the dump in the root game directory, where the data folder is.

install an xbox dashboard.  i used 4817.  also clear symbol cache in the emu settings every time you change games.

Now the bios is starting but I have an error message: "can't open the xbe file"

I have done that and same fatal error. If I leave the xbe files in the folder A I have the same unknown disc error as Mamefan1. Thank you for the help anyway !

So to recap, 

 

put the files in the A folder into the root folder next to boot.id and data folder

use a desktop that is lower than 4092, 4817 works good and put it in your Release-W7-Yaca\EmuDisk\Partition2 folder

when game starts press F1+F2, you might be able to just press F1

Go to the game's sub test menu and turn off drive motor, and card reader if you are not going to use the card system. 

F1 - test

F2 - service

you might have to wait on black screen for a little bit. it takes a short while to load.

Thanks mamefan1, my problem was that my wangan games were not in the same folder as the emu. Also If I move the files from the folder A it doesn't work, I have to copy them in the root folder and leave the A folder.

Now wangan 1 is working but not the 2. I just got to a black screen and that's it. 

Strange behavior but that was to be expected and it will get better.

For maximum tune 2 did you copy all 3 files from the a folder?

Also make sure you are using a desktop below 4092. I had the black screen at one point but it is working now.

 

You might have to keep the files in a folder... i have them there too, but i haven't tried removing the a folder.

 

Games don't have to be in the same folder as the emulator. You just need to make sure the dashboard is in partition 2 in the emu emudisk folders and the bios files are in the chihiro folder

ok its started but it hangs here and no matter if i use keyboard or joypad

also f1 and f2 doesnt do anything

it doesnt boot always - i tried like 50 times and booted 3 times

does it boots and goes in game always for you ?

 

this emulator is like joe biden - really broken

maybe one day will work - maybe

Yeah these are the only 2 games that work flawless for me. The other games I can't start. I can put in coins but not start them

I have Maximum tune 1 working with a 4034 dashboard but Maximum tune 2 doesn't (black screen when trying to reach the game's test sub menu, just like joefish).

 

Can you tell us which dashboard you are using (and eventually where to find it) ?

Never mind, I have found the original XBOX dashboard in archive.org and now Maximum tune 2 works !
