It's not Shaders caching. With TestMode (original wait 60sec), MK1 is'nt 100%.

With patch for no 60sec wait, it's run at 100%

 

With the new version, checking testmode = Game Lag. FPS are at 76%... No with 2023/01/24 version. This new version save TestMode Data, it's probably this

I am having performance issues (frame drops at the beginning of the match) with Virtua Striker 4 and it´s not the stuttering caused by shaders compiling.

so ,I was going through my triforce roms yesterday and I found that I have the Japanese version of mario kart gp2 ..it never worked because the patches for the US version don't work with it ..and I didn't find any patches for it online ..

so ,I was like I can work on it and try to get it to boot ...so I spent a lot of time yesterday but I was still missing something ...went to bed, woke up and spent more time and finally found the last missing part of the puzzle and patched the last address ..problem is a couple of patches needed to follow assembly code ..and I'm not really good at that..so I was really struggling with it .

 

I'm not really sure if it was worth it lol ..I spent way too much time on it .. I didn't play it too much but I didn't notice any extra content in this version ..but it has a Japanese announcer  and I only found one (5 min) vid for it online running on a wii with Nintendont ..so i guess it never ran before on dolphin .. so,I guess that it something .

since it is recognized as a variant for the game ,it shares the same ini with the US version ...so, simply add the extra code in the user config ini for the game and enable it to run the jap version .. having the patches for the us and jap versions enabled didn't cause any problems ..but i didn't play the game for too long   ...and as expected the card created by the US version won't work on the JAP version ..so if you have a card just rename the card file and create one with this version to work ..

I guess the optimal way to run it is to have a separate portable version for dolphin ..so there won't be a need to keep renaming the card created or using the patches for both games at the same time ..

i have a strange problem. I have followed all your guides and the games start to perfection. I even managed to insert the Italian language in virtua striker 4 (thanks crediar this was my dream). the problem is created in the assignment of the keys. for player 1 the B and Y buttons don't work. for player 2 only the Y button. how can I fix it?

I can play everything fine, the only problem is when I try to play at 16:9 with the patch for widescreens, it seems to work but when you're playing it jumps between 4:3 and 16:9, does anyone else get it? I hope have a solution and it would be perfect. Thank you very much for sharing

don't use use wide screen hack just use stretch to window in the general tab in graphics

so after I got more time to test all the games I have... this is a quick report that could be helpful for anyone having problems  :

 

F-Zero AX - works fine as long as rev D or E is used .. those the r the version that have the bypass motor screen patch ...game saves fine (card file is tricard_SBGG.bin)

Mario Kart Arcade GP - works fine as long as a card is created ...so you have the option to skip the camera screen ..with no card it crashes at camera screen ..game saves fine (card file is tricard_SBKP.bin)

Mario Kart Arcade GP 2 -works fine with or without card .. and game save works fine (card file is tricard_SBNL.bin)

Virtua Striker 4 - the analog direction control is inverted .. can be easily fixed in the controller settings..game runs fine

Virtua Striker 4 (2006) - just like the original version has inverted controls .. fixed in the same way and game runs fine

Virtua Striker 2002 - the directional controls is assigned to the d-pad (left and up r swapped )and down is missing ...game runs fine but of course with no down button it's not playable.

 

quick notes:

- in order to set controls standard controller should be picked ..and after you are done setting the controls to keyboard or controller ..exit and set it to am_baseboard

- I tested directx/vulkan and opengl and had no problems with any backend at 4x res

- using dolphin you can easily create different controller profiles for every game and save it then simply make the game start with a specific controller profile ..

 

 

How get or make that cards? veryy thankls

How on earth did you find this in the first place? There's absolutely zero information about it over on the main Dolphin site...

 

I haven't tested this yet, but I'm guessing it won't work on my PC as I'm still (still!) using Windows 7. Assuming it isn't going to work, I don't suppose anyone's got an sort of Windows 7 patch or workaround?

and yep dolphin dropped win 7 support last year  ... although i really didn't want to move to win 10 for retro /arcade gaming because win 7 was really stable ...but it was clear with how things are heading that i needed to migrate to win 10/11.

I have been working on a patch for "Gekitou Pro Yakyuu Mizushima Shinji All Stars vs. Pro Yakyuu "  for the past 3 days ....it took me a long time to get that damn thing working ...but i finally got it done and the game booted and got the controls to work ...

i didn't test it for a long time since it's in jap language .. and I'm not really a fan of baseball and don't know much about the sport ...but everything seems to be fine .. 2 players work and the test menu saves ..( to enter test menu wait for the game to boot and get the title screen ...part of the patch disables test mode while booting and during the warning message)

 

this time i made a gecko code .. i thought it's a clean way to handle the code ...and easy to add ... in game properties under "gecko codes" --> add new code--> give it any name ..i went with "warning fix" and add the code ..make sure u add it in the right place not under description...

use the test mode patches i posted for the mario kart games ...or just use the older build from 2 weeks ago.

right click -->game properties --->game config tab --->editor --->user config section ...add the codes under [onframe] tag add that tag if you don't have it ..

close and open properties again they should appear under patches ...simply check them to enable ....

 

the motor setup patch is for rev c ..since we already got rev d and e ..this will fix rev c and make it boot

 

and for all the other game settings patches they only work for rev E ... i just went with the latest rev .. like the motor patch they don't work for other revs .

I get an unkown game ID error when launching using the 02 02 2023 crediar Dolphin, but i can just click ignore and it goes away and the game starts fine. Will do some more thorough testing later.

glad that it worked for u ... which version are u using? because i tested the game a lot and never got the unknown game id error.

The same one from archive.org decrypted folder, using only the gecko patch, no other patch on the game.

hmm that is weird ... yep the md5 is right .. i tested it on 2 pcs with the latest triforce build .. and a friend tested it and never got that error.

try to remove all the SBGX files (3 files ) from the user/triforce directory and start the game to create them again ...

Strange, i just tried it on a fresh windows 10.

New download/unzip of 2/2/2023 dolphin from crediar.

Set Triforce controller setting, applied gecko patch.

 

I get the same Unknown Game ID error. It's not a big issue, just a minor thing. Did you compile your own version of Dolphin? Maybe the code has been updated to include the game id but the binaries supplied haven't been updated.

nope i'm using the latest build ..same one u r using  ,it's the one i posted a week ago ...i was actually going to build my own version ...but since i got all the triforce games i downloaded to work ..i was like it's not worth it specially that visual studio takes so much space .

 

and i tried the game on fresh dolphin copies on 2 pcs ...and i just didn't get the any errors at all .... i'm using portable dolphin ..so it's super easy to set it up ... and i don't think i have any special settings on..

Hi..virtua striker 4 for both asia and japan does not pass the system update..the blue screen when updating in the test menu turns red giving an error..as for virtua striker 4 v2006 japan updates correctly but when starting it does not start the game... the update message reappears. (vs2006 japan iso previous version not the latest ones... the current ones directly give a red screen error). 
Virtua striker 2002 japan does not start.. even though we have the correct japanese iso, the export version always loads in the emu. (this also happens in the brodostar version)

Hi..The Asian versions with the export are practically the same. As for the Japanese versions, it would be nice if they were functional.

I just tested vs 2002 japan and it works fine on the latest build ... the 3 versions of vs3 2002 all work fine ..

and they r basically the same game ... just different regions

and same goes for vs4 ... they all work (the asia version needs the files i posted earlier)  but they work and they r the same game just different regions and revs

i think this is the only version that is a bit different than the export ...it's in jap language .

I guess at this point we can check all the VS games with all different versions  as playable.

and they r basically the same game ... just different regions

and same goes for vs4 ... they all work (the asia version needs the files i posted earlier)  but they work and they r the same game just different regions and revs

Hi, thanks for answering. I have already solved the textures.

As for vs2002 japan version loads the japanese version? (it's the same game but japanese letters and it changes the ball to the korea-japan 2002 fevernova) because the japanese iso doesn't load it... it always loads the export version even if you have the japanese iso... thanks!
