In my case disabling the NVIDIA graphic card sound output makes the game shell start, but It shows a ERROR UPDATE FAIILED (the shell exe has access to network)

probably when the PC restarted and deleted some files from the Folder.
do the following.
Extract the sega folder again and do not replace what has already been modified. open the game again.
is the fastest way 
but you can also restore the files in the backup folder if you think so.
you are one step away from opening the game 😀

One question... So can I change the path in all the .ini files to move the game folder to another place?

all you have to change is this in shell\game.ini

The game did not work on the C drive. I changed the folder path and it worked. Esc exits the game but I could not figure out how to load the credits and start the game. I also could not adjust the direction settings of the game.

I checked and it still says freeplay after restarting the game. 

I created this quick ahk that once the game loads to the opening video if u press space bar once it automatically clicks the on client window and then goes back to the main game so u can use the mouse (freeplay must be on)

@Yusuf-5454 Use t and y in test menu. I think y selects and t moves.

 

To start game press the windows key or ctrl alt del and click on task manager. Then click the shell window icon in task manager. Press y to enter credit. Press a few times to have many credits loaded. If you have free play enabled Press 1 or right click  to start. Then click on the games icon in taskbar.to play

Hi, I discovered that by running Shell.exe as administrator the game loads on the selection screen, without having to press any keys.

I used Windows XP compatibility mode to successfully start the game. After it fully loaded, the game window crashed and exited, showing the following message and returning to the shell settings menu.

I updated the Game folder Download again the first shared folder was around 2GB, the new one is approximately 3GB, it is much more complete and already has all the advances we made here. Just run the shell as administrator and be happy.

Same for me i follow all instructions but It try to Launch but in a few crashes

Confirmed, connect some speakers to the audio input on the motherboard and the game starts. Once the game starts you can disconnect them. This is necessary for shell.exe to start.I don't know if this will be fixed in the future.

 

And another thing, when you get killed, the game goes to a black screen and there's no way to start over without quitting and restarting it.

effectivement en modifiant les chemins dans le fichier game.ini et install.ini cela ne change rien : le jeu perd des textures graphiques avec des ? partout

j'ai essayé aussi en mode administrateur et le probléme reste le même.

c'est dommage car on est obligé de laisser le jeu à la racine du lecteur C (comme certains jeux avec le dossier rawart)

si quelqu'un a une solution ca serait super

merci.

Yes it was crashing for me on a MiniPC, I simply plugged in a headphone jack wire only into the headphone jack input (and it boots up)

Hope to see this get fixed with a patch.

Yes the same, headphone jack required... stuck at black screen once player dies. 

Are these black question marks suppose to be onscreen?

You have a problem with your graphics setting setting, in place of these marks you normally have zombies that come in the air and you have to shoot at them.

Maybe its an AMD issue.. this is Ryzen7 with built in Radeon graphics.
