Nirin does not launch, crashes on teknoparrot

Hello

I cannot launch the game NIRIN ( Namco ES1 system ) on Teknoparrot on my PC.

After some seconds the game closes due to some error.

I thought it was a shaders related problem, so I tried the shader fix also, to no avail.

I will be grateful for any help in order to fix the issue ! 🙄

Thanks for replying, but I have already tried the fix you suggest, and to no avail, the game still crashes after some debug messages.

The last messages that can be seen before crashing say:

"can´t open file: planner/correct.dat

can´t open file: planner/jump.dat

can´t open file: planner/wipe.h

0 [main] BudgieLoader 1017 cygwin_exception: open_stackdumpfile: Dumping stack trace to BudgieLoader.exe.stackdump"

Nirinerror.jpg.231513c4670b52fd107f6512be3f5bcb.jpg

( the number 1017 may change to other numbers each time I launch the game )

Don´t know if those messages have anything to do with the crash.

There is something wrong that prevents the game from launching.

I get no display, the game closes after a few seconds. It´s strange as, another game, Dead Heat, which is the same hardware ( Namco ES1 ),

works fine on my PC.

I use an old video card without any patch, Video Card = Nvidia GeForce GTS 250 Architecture Tesla (2006−2010), try to get another dump and delete the nirin configuration and start again with a new configuration

Thanks for your reply ! Watching your video, I see you don´t get the error I get, using the old Nvidia GTS 250 card.

Unfortunately, I can only use my Nvidia GT 640, which is rather old too, but gives errors for this game.

I downloaded different dumps from different websites, and all of them show the same error.

Do you use any special Nirin configuration in teknoparrot ?

Thanks again ! Unfortunately using the dump you provided, it still crashes the same way as before.

I was using dinput and tried xinput this time, to see if there was any change, but the problem remains in xinput.

I think the game doesn´t like my graphic card, or there is something that prevents BudgieLoader from launching the game on my PC.

I don´t know if it is a matter of memory or lack of video ram of the graphic card, who knows ? My graphic card has only 1 Gb of Vram.

The strange thing is that the game Dead Heat works fine on my PC, without any issue, and it is the same Namco ES1 hardware, as well.

Can you please explain me, how to proceed to disable "port(com-lpt)" and "video processing device" in task manager ?. Do you mean Task Manager or Device Manager instead ? I am on Windows 11 23H2.

I found "port (com-lpt) in Device Manager but there is no option to disable the driver, only the device. I don´t know either what is "Video processing device" .

click right mouse and disable,                         Similarly, disable the video camera or light gun (sinden)

I don´t have any video camera or light gun connected. I disabled all I had in Ports ( COM & LPT ) but that didn´t solve the issue.

Thanks for the hint, but I think the issue is not there, it is more likely related to my graphic card.

Yes, the game "Tank! Tank! Tank! works fine. The only Namco ES1 game that crashes before going ingame, is Nirin.

Someone in Discord said he believed that "the stackdump issue is caused by delayed timing for your system to hook opengl32 ( that is compiled to use specific Mesa3d drivers in conjuction with your gpu drivers and latest system sub-linux lib library ) to elfldr2 budgie loader in order to launch the game...." ( this is textually what he said ).

I don´t understand much about linux, but I think he is right, it´s something about timing of my CPU to hook BudgieLoader and Linux libraries. Cygwin, by the way, is a kind of Linux "emulator" that runs on Windows.

The error mentions something about cygwin exception. Maybe Nirin game needs a faster computer in order to not have that timing delay. My PC is rather old, only 2 cores.
