How to use omnimix for Sound Voltex

Omnimix are used for adding custom content or removed songs to the game, but I don't recommend using omnimix with non-official songs unless you're playing on a local server or a server that actually supports it.

 

How to use

To use omnimix, there's few ways to do it and the easiest way is through Spicetools, or the newer fork SpiceX2. It has built-in layeredFS function where you can just add the omnimix and use it directly without any additional steps.

For example, you can add songs that has been removed from the official game with this omnimix pack: https://pixeldrain.com/u/P9jfnLJf (thanks to @laflegge for the upload)

 

 

Just download the omnimix, create a new folder with the name data_mods in your sound voltex game folder, extract the content of the omnimix.zip into data_mods and start the game.

If you have any additional mods to add to the game, remember to delete the _cache folder so newly added mods can be loaded. 

 

Alternatively, you can also use the newer version of the layeredFS from mon, which can be downloaded from this link: https://github.com/mon/ifs_layeredfs

For this one, just place the ifs_hook.dll in your sound voltex game folder and enter the DLL name in the options tab of Spicecfg.exe. 

If you're launching the game using a .bat file, just add -k ifs_hook.dll to use it.

 

Songs aside, you can also use this for the game texture and sprites. The steps are exactly the same and you just need to place the mods in the data_mods folder.

Thanks for this. Not sure if you can do anything about (or maybe pass on the info) but I did find a glitch. Track 0035 Candii (11) is not working for me. It instantly fails the song the moment it starts.
