[Emu] PS2 & Namco System 147 / 148 / 246 / 256 Emulation on Play!

Trying to play Cobra, put the arcade defs in the correct folder as well as the rom files. The chd I redid with chdman bat files. It loads and says system256 load settings error. Anyone have any ideas?

Try using the Chd and arcadedef files from this link I posted in this thread. The files Don't need converting, just replace the ones you have. I suspect you might have a bad dump. Give them a try, they work 100% on my play! Emulator.

Awesome thank you, its booting now. Does this game work? Because I insert coins which is laggy. Then it asks me to insert card. Then it gives me a grey E51 error.

@mjshl2 The game isn't currently playable, still needs more work to make it functional.

Hi, is anyone lucky to get Soul Calibur II run?

It hangs at initializing screen on my side.

@jjkkyu I've just tried it and see what you mean. It used to work on earlier Play! builds. I guess the update broke something. Looks like we'll have to wait for an update to fix it!

you have to go on the github and goto actions

Actions · jpd002/Play- (github.com)

pick your build on the left (windows) and make sure it says namco_system_256, if you want a previous version go more down the list
choose that link then roll down to artifacts and choose the version you need, download and install.
Some previous versions will not be available, they will have an expired status.

Somebody I know on discord has managed to run the English Version of Cobra The Arcade into the gameplay (turning off the card reader) but no inputs, so still unplayable ☹️

I see you were trying to fire the bullets but nothing on the screen. Seems like an invisible wall or just no aiming atm. Shame the gameplay is slow like TC3, was expecting that as well on Cobra! The demo and the rest of the game run brilliantly! The waiting continues!

Silly question. How did you change the region and switch the card reader off. There is only 1 ROM to this game I believe. Do you have to edit the arcadefs file?

You need the CBR2 Version B dongle which is found in the link I posted a few pages back.... The region depends on the dongle, not the dump. You probably need to edit the arcadedef files accordingly.. I have not messed around with this emu yet so I can't provide much help.. I am sure a nice and helpful person here will provide one for us.

There are only 23 playable characters, I mean the version with 31 playable characters.
