is there any way to point this to a server yet? the ddr-11.conf has a server address thing but my server doesn't seem to be connecting with it. Does my server thing not work but the .conf does or is it both or is it just the .conf not working?

Check the Nyaa site. The JP data is posted last July 2022.

after downloading the dump thats the older dump there was a newer one awhile back might be on vm.

Thx for your help. I figured it out on my own. Here is a little tutorial for those that are using the Japanese dump:

 

There are 2 folders, HDX and unpacked

extract both

take the files from the unpacked folder and put them into the DDX main folder...overwrite files

extract ddr-11.zip from bemani tools and put them in your ddr_2009063000 folder. 

(Also works if u put contents of ddr-11.zip in the other folders: ddr_2009021600, ddr_2009031600 or ddr_2009061000, but then you 
will be playing an older version of the game)

 

Run config.bat and set your controls

If you experience the gray arrow glitch, go here https://mon.im/bemanipatcher/   and apply the fix.

 

enjoy the game

Btw, the ddr x jp doesn't need ddu to work properly, unlike ddr x usa. It works fine without uninstalling some graphics files

Once you're able to boot up the game, you'll have two options on how to fully unlock it. 

1. You can just enable the Bemanipatcher to unlock all songs. Machine rankings will not be enabled though.

2. I personally recommend to apply the unlock codes to fully unlock the game, You'll also get the MAX icon on the title screen when it's fully unlocked. 
You'll also enable Machine rankings on courses when you apply the unlock code.

okay this is ridiculous idk if its just my computer or what but not matter what the game refuses to boot for me on my desktop (Ryzen 7 5700X RX 6700 XT) no matter what it just a black screen and it stays that way no matter how long i wait forcing me to Crtl+Alt+Dlt sign out everytime. what's even more ridiculous is that it works perfectly on my laptop (Intel Core i5 7300HQ Geforce 1050). Seriously is there some sort of spec compatibility issue or something? Or is there something blocking the game from booting which i should be aware of. Because seriously,this is ridiculous.

i dont think this game is compatible with new hardware. i was able to get it to work with amd and NVidia on older cards. but i could be wrong also there might a overlay issue so may try disabling any overlays

I am even using the latest bemani tools, still nothing. I too am starting to believe that this game does not work well with the latest drivers on the newer hardware. Because if i remember correctly, the game can work on new hardware if you use the microsoft basic graphics driver.

Any updates on getting a server working with DDR X? I made a post before describing the ddr-11.config that has a space to put url for a server, but any server you put it will not connect. Has there been any updates on getting this data connected to a server?

I know that the JP version will only black screen once. Try again.

 

For the US version, you need to uninstall some drivers for it to work. There should be a link somewhere in this thread (I'm not at home right now so you'll have to search for now) that uninstalls drivers. Be wary however that this will cause some programs to not work properly (in my case, KOF XV in Steam started to lag, even in offline mode). If that happens, reinstall the drivers. Uninstall them again if you want to play DDR X USA.

ATTENTION!!

One of the arcades in Japan have announced the old DDR Machines (CRT's) will no longer be supported from April 1st 2024.

The new version of DDR will only support UNIANA machines (White Cabs), Black Chasis (Japanese X Cabs) and 20th Anniversary Models (Gold Cabs).

So if anyone has one of those CRT's machines, better start upgrading that screen to HD. SD will no longer be in the new version of DDR.

nevermind, I got a copy working. new question, why are the menus extremely laggy and the background bright blue??? is it a GPU error? the actual game runs no problem on my 1060, just the menus glitching.

fixed this, if anyone runs into the same problem, k-lite media codec pack is your friend. installing it fixes the background and frame drops on X, and the videos in X2.
