 page 13. no  larry bro,  the reason why i use mame 0.171 is cos after this version mame went to shit basically, they tried to take over the scanline thing . so you actually have no control over what u want , you have to use their crap that looks like garbage.  

the version i use also has more games, we have lost games , gained some but mostly rubbish anyway.  i have worked it out on my mame so that it looks like how it did. you cant do that on mame versions after 0.171 ,  its contrived rubbish,  but some people dont know what arcades actually looked like cos they are too young. i grew up in the arcades so i know how it looked.  scanlines were very subtle,  these new updated mame versions just are so wrong . its just ugly.

be like comparing the cartoon spongebob square pants to X-men Animated series from the 90's. 

obviously being spongebob  was a badly computer generated cartoon, while   X-Men: The Animated Series was hand drawn and painted and actually good....    but by all means do what you want  😁

I have a really weird problem with the latest version of mame now. Whenever I refresh the rom list to add my new roms it hangs at 18% and wont go any further no matter how long I let it sit there. I even tried deleting the whole thing and downloaded it again and it still does the same thing. Any ideas whats going on here??

Yes, is possible, I set my controls this way:

 

Paddle analog - none

All analog - none

Dec - None

Inc - Buttons that you want

In analog control I set 40 for autocenter speed

Wiimote(lightgun) and glovepi script (Move Mouse -Mouse)

 

This is the old version of the Mame where you can use Wiimote (lightgun) without any other programs (PPjoy, Vjoy, Toumouse etc ..) (Mouse convert Gamepad)

Since this version(0.174), we have changed the direct inputs and Wiimote can only be positively emulated by gamepad ,,

 

Some settings in the game I have set (No crisis visible)
and start, coin atd..-change as you like

 

Marked Games (Green, Yellow) are the latest games (roms - mame 0.215)

 

Just invite Wiimote and GlovePi Script

 

Many games work like:

Carn Evil
Time crisis
Etc ..

GlovePi is a simple scripting program
It has a lot of fun, it depends what script it uses
And it's easy to start

 

For example, you can use Wiimote as a steering wheel ...

And I'm pleased to share here

 

Not so much changes, but this version is "nag free" and supports the very new hack Final Fight 30th Anniversary Edition (3 players version!)

It supports also an "unloved" Progear hack still not included in HBMAME (?) : Halfway To Hell - Red Label

(as a bonus it includes support and the customized rom of an old color hack I made years ago...)

There is an arcade version of Final Fight 2 (snes bootleg) running in MAME BTW.

If you can't repair your board nor dump it yourself, please send it to mamedev and they will likelly manage to dump and emulate it.

That way it will be included in MAME and preserved
