This is probably an entirely bad place to post this. But I actually own a SN cabinet and the PS2 HDD just went out in it.  Im assuming I could theoretically I could use the SN raw file from here to somehow make it work on the PS2

If anyone cares to enlighten me that would be awesome feel free to DM me.

I assume the hdd which died is more locked down than you think.

Keep it, maybe you must extract a key or something from the firmware.
I assume you can not use another brand / model / type of hdd.

And .chd files in MAME are binary copies of full hdd's and other data media.

I have succeeded in producing raw files from chd thanks to numDHC.

I was able to generate this from a MAMEchd in DrumManiaV.

Please refer to this if you are having trouble.

Also, I am trying the same boot method as ThrillDrive3 with P2io, but I would like to know how to decompress or generate EFI when doing an EFI boot.

I arrived at KelfTool.

I tried to use it to create an elf from an img.
Perhaps there is a different way...

I want to get thrill drive working, but this entire thread makes my head hurt. Im lost, and every link for the 3 games on here is totally dead. I think maybe the initial post at the beginning of the thread should be updated. I have a build where ethernet doesn't work. What do I do with the magic gate keys. What do I do with the python2 no hdd zip?

So I managed to get Thrill Drive 3 to boot, but it crashes at the splash screen. I enabled ethernet settings(sockets and auto). Set the HDD. Set port 1 to Python2, set device API to raw input. Configured the buttons. Modified the .ini to show where the img was with double slashes. Have the bios and magicgate in bios folder. I feel im close, but not sure what the issue is. Also if some amazing person could post up a link to the other 2 working games. That would be amazing.

So after I download this zip file do I put the RAW file in the same folder as the dongles you provided? The 2 games I want to get working are Toys March 1 & 2 since Thrill Drive 3 is already converted on Archive.ORG.

DDR SuperNOVA/SuperNOVA2 Do someone got the HDD?

The MAME CHD and dongles should work fine. Just convert the CHD into a IMG file, make a .py2 file for that game, and make sure that black/white dongles from the zip file are in the same directory as the game. Also, the ps_nvram file can be put in the place of the LINK_ID file

how do you do that?

I am from Shanghai, China. The Tekken arcade in our city has been closed for a long time, and the owner of the arcade hall has already replaced the core with other games.

Hi, I've made an account because I'd like to request some help please. First of all I am most grateful to the people who have provided guides and advice on how to get this working, but despite my best efforts, I have reached a wall in regards to getting the US version of SuperNOVA2 working.

I've acquired what appear to be all the necessary files, gdj_uaa_2007100800.chd is the US version I downloaded and converted to raw, but no version of PCSX2 I've attempted to use will properly boot the game for me. The closest I've got is the red error screen on boot, and even that took me a while to reach due to boot issues. I've read it might be that the dongle files and such aren't the correct ones, but I don't know where I could find the right ones to test, as I've only found the ones I'm currently using online. The "PCSX2 Python 2" copy is the only version that lets me get this far, but it doesn't appear to have network capabilities, and the other version linked in the thread just gets stuck on boot. I'd use a newer "WX" version I've heard people mention, but I don't know how, but perhaps that could work if I had more instruction. It doesn't seem to be built for python2 like the other versions people have provided, unless I'm missing something?

I would deeply appreciate any advice, I'll even completely rebuild with a different version entirely if need be, if that means it'll work. I'd prefer to play the US version for the sake of playing in full English, but I'll accept the Japanese version if that will actually work.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Edit: The other version of PCSX2 provided in the thread started working again, but even with its capability to enable networking, it still gets stuck on the same red error screen.

This is the last part of the log file, if this information helps narrow down the issue I'm having:

Quote

I:iop: init network
I:iop: load /sys/modules/netcnfif.irx
W:top: no setting profile. mcode=(NULL), softid=(NULL), hwkey=PY2-00:04:1f:82:c3:c1

Edit 2: If you're having trouble like I did, download the versions linked to in this post and follow any setup instructions (you'll have to add the correct directories for each file in PCSX2, or at least I did):

Does it need supernova 1 to install?

It finally works, I'm so happy!

Hello, unfortunately I can't get DDR SuperNOVA2 USA to work even after copying all of the files. It always says that security ID is invalid or not connected in Japanese. I copied everyhting in that zip file but isn't working. I tried from here but still won't work even after copying the data from the 0x1e0 hex.

https://ia902504.us.archive.org/view_archive.php?archive=/1/items/mame-merged/mame-merged/ddrsn2u.zip

And for this zip file, which version of DDR SN2 does it work for Asian and Japan? the 2007071100 or the 2007100800?
