Did you get any games working? I downloaded the new CHD's, Bios, & ROM's but I just get a black screen when trying to launch them,

then from there, what about the ddr.raw file? how do i get that to work? i have the kpython2.zip in the roms folder, then i tried copying the ddr.raw file inside a folder named "ddrsn2j" inside the roms folder. still won't work

 

i got ddr 1st-extreme working in mame way back. sn2 i can't get it to work

Who sayd that those games works ? this new is a big fake,

Konami Python and Python 2 games don't work on MAME and they are rightly marked as not working.

MAME is very far from emulating a PS2 nowdays so this fork is more than alive.

All the .raw files have been converted to CHDs and are in the MAME .247 Roms library

All Konami/Rhythm/Bemani games are listed as non-working in MAME due to sync issues, even DDR 3rd Mix/Extreme.

I've noticed huge difference in size, and yes it contains the whole python & python2 games 

all of them

for example: folder ( gtrfrk2m ) is Guitarfreaks 2nd mix

Yes, the sound emulation is marked as "Unimplemented" so I doubt I can do much beyond just booting into attract mode. Maybe I could at least convert the MAME CHDs into files I can use with the PCSX2 P2IO fork somehow?

guys you have to install the games within mame which i mentioned here 

 

 

in MAME some games have to be installed from "CD-ROM" which is the CHD's to the "FLASH-ROM" to run the game  

and some games start installing the game by itself you just have to change the CD-ROM 

just follow the instruction below to install the game you need or to change the CD-ROM:

 

* For System 573 games always select "BIOS"  "Found on Dancing Stage Euro Mix 2"

 

*If MAME start FLUSHING (Deleting) the Flash-rom then it will install "initialize" the game by itself you just have to change the "CD-ROM" in this case wait 

until MAME tells you "INFO *509" OR "INFO *506" and the CD number example "8979-26655" Press "Tab" on your Keyboard go down to "Machine Configuration"

press "Enter" in "CD" choose "2" and Press "F2" (F2 KEY is the Test Switch)

 

*when MAME tells you "Do You Want To Initialize Flash-ROM" press "F2" "Test Switch"

 

*To install the game by yourself in MAME press "Tab" go to "DIP SWITCH" change "switch 4" from "FLASH-ROM" to "CD-ROM" then press "Return to Previous Menu".

*Go to "Machine Configuration" in " CD" choose "1" then press "Return to Previous Menu".

Omar, thanks for your detailed response / writeup! I'm still missing something so I apologize in advance for my ignorance. Here's what I've done thus far:

1) Open MAME and dbl click on a game, in my example Thrill Drive 3

2) The next window says "Start Empty" as seen in my attached image. I dbl click on that and MAME opens the machine information, press any key, and then I come to a black screen.

3) I hit tab while on the black screen and turn on dip switch 4 as seen in my attached image. I do not see any references to CD or Flash Rom so I just hit "Return to Previous Menu"

4) I cannot find "Machine Configuration" and therefore stuck at this point

 

Can you please help a bit further? Thanks again!

i am still downloading the new update and its 57.4% through as soon as i download it i will run it and update you all 

 

my real problem that i will be leaving the country in two days for two months and i will not be near any PC  the whole period 

 

 

 

ok i found a way to help i will download like three games only 👍and i will run my testing

I have found out that these Python2 games don't work on MAME due to missing ILINK_ID files, so that's why you don't get anything apart from a black screen. We'll need the Python2 romsets to contain the ILINK_ID files to get them working.

okay so even though mame doesn't work with python 2 so you can still use the romsets on pcsx2

just convert the chd's using chdman.exe within the mame folder to .raw and use the hdd id, and dongle files from the romsets. and just set up python2 on pcsx2 the same as before. as for the ilink, the ilink can be found by copying 8 bytes from 0x1e0 hex offset within the ps2_nvram file.

 

It even works with the latest version of pcsx2! Also AMERICAN VERSION!! 😁

just open the ps2_nvram file with a hex editor and highlight the first eight bytes from the 0x1E0 offset, copy and paste it onto a new hex document and save it as a ilink_id.bin file

You sure this is the right way? I got the security ID error in Japanese.

"Invalid security ID or not connected."

 

And yes I got all the files I need.

Just a change of topic. I have a really big dilemma with DDR SN and SN2. I got SN2 working but not SN. Now here's the ridiculous part.

 

I replaced all of the python2 files of SN2 with SN and now SN is working. However, it doesn't work if I copy every file in PCSX2 into a new folder (except the "python2" folder). I already adjusted the python2.ini by renaming the paths and kept replacing the HDD file in the "Network and HDD settings" but I always end up in the PS2 browser.

 

Meaning the only way for me to play SN is to replace all SN2 files in the "python2" folder with SN. I can't play it in a separate PCSX2. Now how do i fix that?

Do you mean the Japanese non-MAME dumps or the MAME dumps? I could get the former to work but not the latter.

Yes, non-MAME. I got SN2 to work but not SN. However, SN works if I replace all of SN2's python2 files with SN. It doesn't work when I make a separate PCSX2.

I had gotten both to work before you just need to specify 2 game entries with the file paths in Python2.ini

Go to USB settings, then where it says "Raw Input" press the configure button beside it. Then there the selected game entry will reflect the game you'll boot.
