Just fixed this too lol. Switched from my headset to my main audio output and it works like a charm! Posting this in case someone else runs into the same thing.

The reason for this is because a lot of the newer music games take exclusive control of your audio on your PC. Hence why you had to switch to your monitor speaker audio. I had the same problem too.

On vm website there’re 2 options dl the one that has 2 parts and it should work fine

also the hori you have is the switch ver? If you can share your experience how to set it with jconfig 

and if it’s syncs correctly with the gameplay it would help

Just wanted to confirm the Switch HORI tatacon does work for me in XInput mode (doesn't work with DInput for me) and that the Taiko Force Lv5 works perfectly as well. I didn't have any crashes using XInput.

If you're still having the dongle error, you either didn't download the 2 part zip file (if you only have Taiko_Nijiiro.7z, you don't have all of the required files), or if you did you didn't copy the JConfig files from TAIKO_2021_06_17.7z folder into the Executable/Release folder. There should be a bnusio.dll file that gets overwritten, and I believe this is what bypasses the dongle requirement.

i did copy it and i did overwrite it... i have no idea why it doesnt work :(

What exactly is going on? Is there just a black screen? Does it just crash? Are there errors?

 

The dongle will still throw a not authenticated error in the console, but it should still work with the patched files. I'd probably suggest deleting what you have and starting from scratch. Try extracting Taiko_Nijiiro.7z, then copy the files for JConfig, then try to start Taiko.exe and it should work. You'll probably need to use the NoVsync patched exe, but if you do those two steps correctly, the default Taiko.exe should at least run. It may run too slow depending on your setup, but then you can just use the NoVSync patch.

i boot it up, it shows the component test screen (dongle, i/o etc.) then shows the loading screen, then the credits, then namco logo and then it fades into black with the coin counter at the bottom. i have tried doing it from scratch many times. i have the taiko nijiiro.7z and the jconfig files. im sure im not missing anything. could reinstalling windows help?
idk if it could be useful, but my specs are:
AMD Ryzen 7 2700x
NVIDIA GTX 1660ti
16GB RAM
Windows 10 21H1

heres a video that shows exactly what happens. also, when i change any graphics settings, they have no effect

When you open up JConfig, disable DX Window Mode and set the DX Hertz to 60. You'll need to click Save after. This patches Taiko.exe... so if you don't save, those settings/fixes won't be applied to the exe. If you replace the Taiko.exe with one of the VSync patched ones, you'll also need to use JConfig and patch that file again. JConfig will only patch the file names Taiko.exe it seems.

thanks for your response, unfortunely this just makes the game run quicker. oh well, ill just wait till theres a stronger modding community and more knowledge about the game like with project diva arcade

I had the same problem.
in my case, if jconfig was on Dinput: black screen then crash
with Xinput: my button was not recognized.

 

solution :
in the case of my drum noname: I set my drum in input, save.
then change to xinput, save

the nosync mod is perfect for me

Jconfig résolution = 1920x1080p 60Hz

desktop : 1920x1080p 60Hz

 

Taiko_SongUnlockVSyncOff.exe

 

and it's perfect

For me at least, I found out that the game crashes if I plug in my controller, so try unplugging that

thanks, can you unlock ura levels? I can only unlock the ura level of yawaraka sensha, but angel dream and others can’t
