7.CreatE .bat file   >>>>   spice64.exe -e .\prop\eamuse-config2.xml  And Call it GITADORA Matixx GuitarFreaks.bat

8.Run asphyxia-core-win-x64.exe and go to Core > Dashboard Apply CORE Settings. THEN GO to Plugins > GITADORA > OVERVIEW and Apply Plugin Settings 

9.Run GITADORA Matixx GuitarFreaks.bat and Enter Test Mode 

GO TO 
-ALL FACTORY SETTINGS > Reset to factory setting by hitting Yes and Yes.

Now Go To 
GAME OPTIONS  > TO > SHOP SETTINGS > ENTER
-SHOPE NAME SETTINGS.  type any Name 
-PREFECTURE. Choose any 
-Save and Exit

GO TO 
CLOCK > TO > SET TIME
-SAVE AND EXIT

 

10.Hit Alt+F4 TO SHUT DOWN THE GAME

 

11.Reboot the Game by step 8.Run asphyxia-core-win-x64.exe and go to Core > Dashboard Apply CORE Settings. THEN GO to Plugins > GITADORA > OVERVIEW and Apply Plugin Settings

 

12.Run GITADORA Matixx GuitarFreaks.bat or GITADORA Matixx DrumFreaks.bat

Same here! I've tried these steps 3 times and I get this error as well. Changing other settings and sound frequency doesn't seem to help.

I was finally able to get the SpiceTools developers to take a look. Apparently, this specific error for GITADORA Exchain specifically is because the May 29th 2021 SpiceTools build is an unofficial build. Because Konami left a few funky bugs in GITADORA, the community open source build of SpiceTools (5-29-21) unfortunately won't run. 

For whatever reason, the link to spicetools in this thread is dead, so a lot of people now are just googling 'spicetools' which pulls up that emuline thread which only has the 5-29-21 build.
 

Therefore, everyone should be using THIS spicetools: https://onlyone.cab/downloads/spicetools-21-04-27.zip which is the newest spicetools supported by its developers as of 9-23-21. 

 

I was able to get the game running and playing, but I am still getting a few sound issues and will continue ironing those out. I will write a BETTER guide once I finish, as this one leaves out quite a few errors.

I got the game working 99%, refer to the guide below for everything I did to get it going.
If you are still trying to download this, I am seeding it, as the main download link is dead and the mirror is a pain in the ballsack to download.

I wouldn't mind an exchain torrent since the regular download is so annoying.

Finally, I got Exchain up and running, and what an adventure it was. Many thanks to Omar2 for a somewhat lacking guide that led me on a journey across the rhythm game community for solutions.

 

 

The following guide has been proven to work on Intel processors, specifically the i5-9600K and the i7-7820HQ. Ryzen processors may need to disable hyperthreading via BIOS, but could have other issues.

Updated GITADORA Exchain setup guide (as of 5-17-22)

1. Download Exchain. Get it from the nyaa.si torrent or from the mirror. The normal download link is dead. The mirror is a pain in the ass to download from. Lucky for you, I will usually be seeding Exchain. 
2. Download and install Asphyxia Core and THE OFFICIAL VERSION OF SPICETOOLS. This link should always point to the latest spicetools. As of 1/19/22, the latest build is 21-12-28, the previous build being 21-12-19. Spicetools 21-5-29 or 21-5-28 DOES NOT WORK. IT IS NOT OFFICIAL. Refer to my previous post above for why.
   1. Install the Gitadora plugin for Asphyxia. See Omar2's guide for it.
   2. To install, just extract the folder where you see .exe to your game directory, which is \Contents.
3. Go to Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Manage audio devices -> choose your audio device -> Properties
   1. Make sure the sample rate is 480000
   2. Check both boxes that mention exclusive mode and apply your changes.
4. Open spicetoolscfg.
   1. First thing to do is to bind your buttons. Here's what inputs I bound:
      1. For GuitarFreaks:
         1. Guitar P1 Start, U, D, L, R, Help and controller inputs
         2. Guitar P2 Start, U, D, L, R, Help (may be needed for test mode)
      2. For DrumMania:
         1. Drum Start, U, D, L, R, Help and controller inputs
      3. If you have a numpad, the keypad should be already bound. If not, bind the keypad numbers. In both cases, bind 00 and decimal.
      4. Bind card insert key.
      5. Bind insert coin if it isnt already.
      6. In the cards tab, click generate. It should create a card0.txt in your game directory. Set the path of the card to that txt.
   2. Options tab. This is the important part. Everything here is required unless stated otherwise. Drummania players, you might want to refer to https://bemani.guide/games/exchain/setup/ for a better list of options.
      1. Path to avs-config.xml: prop\avs-config-ja.xml
      2. Path to ea3-config.xml: prop\eamuse-config2.xml if guitarfreaks, prop\eamuse-config.xml if drummania. Alternatively  you can skip this step and follow Omar2's instructions for creating the .bat files.
      3. GitaDora two channel audio: check
      4. Display adapter: if you are not using windowed mode, put the number of your preferred monitor here. You can see which monitor is first in Windows Settings. The first monitor is numbered 0.
         1. Show cursor: optional. Recommended.
      5. Windowed mode: Recommended. If you want to run fullscreen, change your screen resolution to 1280x720 via your graphics card control panel and leave this unchecked. Be sure to not click off the game after you have started it.
      6. Service url: http://localhost:8083/ (only if you are using asphyxia as per this guide)
      7. E-amusement emulation: optional if you are not using asphyxia. if you are following this guide step by step, don't check this.
5. Run asphyxia-core-win-x64.exe and go to Core > Dashboard and Apply CORE Settings.THEN GO to Plugins > GITADORA > OVERVIEW and Apply Plugin Settings.
6. Run spice64.exe. If something happens, check your logs
7. You should see a black screen with an error. Press the test key.
8. Go to Game Options > Shop Settings. Set the name to anything, keep pressing up until you see the English alphabet. Set the Prefecture to anything. Save and exit.
9. Go to Clock.. Save and exit.
10. Go down to Game Mode.
    1. If Game Mode is greyed out, just close the game with Alt-F4 or closing the logs window behind it. The second way is faster.
11. Your game should run now! Refer to the FAQ down below if it doesn’t.  
12. If you get any black box errors talking about Paseli or something, ignore it and press enter.

 

 

 

 

Common Questions

Why is my Game Mode/Event Mode option greyed out in the test mode menu?

o   This happens on the first boot of the game. If it is your first boot, just restart the game. If the problem persists or if this isn't the first boot, check your shop settings again. It also wouldn't hurt to check your audio settings in spicetoolscfg.

Why do I keep getting the 5-2500-001 Backup Data Error even after following the steps?

o   The problem is likely in your sound settings. Make sure you followed step 3 and checked -2ch in spicecfg. Try spicetoolscfg > options > audio backend and clearing the option.

Why am I getting an EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION error in my logs?

o   You are likely using a version of spicetools that does not support GITADORA Exchain. See the link in my guide for a working version.

Why are the background videos freezing sometimes?

                o   Check this post! Thanks to OP.

Why can’t I hear anything?

o   Make sure you followed step 3. Also, go to spicetoolscfg > options > audio backend and clear the option.

Why can’t I hear anything other than the game?

o   This isn’t really that much of a problem, but rather just how the game is built. The game is based on WASAPI, which requires that it runs on exclusive mode. There is a way to get around this. However, this may introduce some audio latency

 

1. Install FlexASIO (https://github.com/dechamps/FlexASIO/releases)

2. Create a FlexASIO.toml configuration file in your user folder (C:\Users\Your Name)

3. Insert these lines inside your configuration file:

backend = "Windows WASAPI"

bufferSizeSamples = 386

channels = 2

wasapiExclusiveMode = false

suggestedLatencySeconds = 0.0

 

 

 

 

                                    4. Now go to your spicecfg, set Audio Backend to ASIO and enable WASAPI Dummy Context. Set the ASIO Driver ID to 1.  You should be good to go! However, if your game doesn't start after this, check your logs. It will tell you what drivers are already installed and which one is FlexASIO. Change the ASIO Driver ID to whatever one is FlexASIO.

The e-Amusement pass works using EXChain, but fails in Mattix when I try to insert the card and enter n my pin. Any ideas?

 

Also, are there dumps for the other newer games in the series (GITADORA, NEX+AGE,  TriBoost, and Overdrive)?

a new spicetools has been released (21-10-13). the top google result still links the version that DOESN'T WORK.

21-04-27 is no longer the latest official spicetools build, this one is.

if you had 21-04-27 already, feel free to upgrade. spicecfg settings are saved per user or computer.

i have confirmed everything is working fine with this latest build.

omar2's guide enabled -ea and put a services url. -ea is spicetools' built in eamuse emulation, so uncheck -ea so the game can use asphyxia
