Ignoring my really bad shots at the beginning, look at the second scene more.

 

This is running Hypseus with the new forced overlay argument in 16:9, which will stretch to whatever the underlying video is, therefore keeping the hitbox locations correct:

 

 

 

This was run with the following arguments to hypseus: 

hypseus.exe singe vldp -framefile Maddog2_HD\Video\maddog2.txt -script Maddog2_HD\Script\maddog2.singe -oversize_overlay -blank_searches -blank_skips -min_seek_delay 200 -x 1920 -y 1080 -fullscreen

-oversize_overlay being the important one - Video is stretched of course, but at least that way you will see all the targets at the top and bottom of the screen...

 

Or is the stretched (and therefore distorted) screen just a no go.....  ?

i would prefer no widescreen cinescope but totally full screen as your amazing works as LUPIN and FIRE AND ICE  etc

The reason forthis is that those games (F&I) Lupin are based on a 16/9 source. I did nothing to adapt them, there is no 2:35 for those.

Stretching is bad ;)

 

BUt maybe that's an acceptable solution (and anyway, the only way to have 16/9) for some.

I think the last two Singe 1.X games I have are Chantze's Stone and Starblazers (Space Battleship Yamato). Are there any plans to convert those to formats that are useable in Singe 2? I would like to phase out Singe 1 all together. Actually I would like to phase out Daphne also.

a few notes :

 

- For all those games, you will find an Assets directory, including pictures (logo, cover,...) for you favorite launcher 

- In order to launch the games, you just need to click the corresponding bat file.

 

 

GAMING MODES:

 

In the option menu, you can define the gaming mode among:

 

- Normal: that's the classic type. For each failure you lose a life and go back to start of Level/Scene/Move

- Percent: you just play one level and cannot die. At the end you % rate will be determined (this is a good trainer)

- Life Bar: You've got hit points and lose some for each failure, a serie of good moves will give you some life (this is an easier mode than normal)

- Kid: you play with only one button that you need to press at the right time.

- Movie: No play at all but you can watch the story peacefully.   

 

 

CONTROLS:

 

1 or Start : Start the game

5: Add Credits

9 or Right Thumb : Options menu

Left Control or Button A : Action

Left Alt or Button B : Action 2 (used as feet in Cliffhanger)

Arrows or pad : Move

Esc or Start+Select  : Exit 

 

When you're in the attract mode you can push the action button for more detailed controls.

 

In the Options Menu, you can define many things like Starting Level (and Scene) - So yes you can finally play the unreachable levels of DL2 - Number of lives and Death Rewind (read the tutorial for more details).

Death rewind defines where the game resets when you die:

 

- Level (most boring option - not recommended)

- Scene

- Last move (note that this option can be tricky in some games where moves are close to each other)

- Next move (like Space Ace, note that this option can be tricky in some games where moves are close to each other)

 

 

4/3 VERSIONS:

 

For Asterix, Mononoke, Sucker Punch, Cliffhanger, Fire and Ice & Titan A.E i also made 4/3 cropped versions (if your screen is not 16/9). 

You just need to put the file in the Movie directory (replacing the 16/9 movie).

If you need a specific resolution for your system (lower resolution for example), just ask and i'll consider it.

16/9 VERSIONS:

 

For 4/3 games (DL2, TG), i prepared something special, with a bezel.

Normally, converting those games to 16/9 means cropping and i'm not a big fan since cropping means removing important parts of the image.

The link includes the new video and a new main.singe (in order to keep things like score at the right place).

In this directory you can also find a 16/9 cropped version of Titan A.E and Sucker Punch. (without black bars).

AHK SCRIPT:

 

Real arcade cabinet sticks use dinput instead of xinput.

For now Singe does not recongnize dinput, but as a workaround, you can use JoyToKey and link some keys to your buttons.

Here is a script that will launch JoyToKey, then the game and kill the JoyToKey process when you exit the game (you need to edit it accordingly to the game you want to launch, like a bat file):

If, after update, you have problems for some games (freeze or anything), don't bother and just redownload the whole game.

 

 

AUDIO STUTTERING PROBLEM:

 

Some may experience audio stuttering. Msincognito (thanks) pointed the fact that Singe does not like 5.1 settings. So be sure that your audio card is set to Stereo and not to 5.1. That should solve the problem. 

If that does not work, then try to change Realtek drivers to regular windows HD audio drivers.

Also the game might also stutter because your computer has difficulties with the HD overlay. In that case try to set it to LO def (last option of the menu - key 9)

Last but not least, some people reported that setting singe.exe to launch as admin does improve things. To do this right click on Singe.exe and choose "Properties". Then go to the "Compatibility" tab and tick "Run as Administrator". Apply, you're done. 

 

i tested out some games on the singe2 emulator the mad dog version here works very good, the version on the kangarou website has sound issues that are fixed in this version. (very noticable when entering the saloon, some sounds play out twice). 

but the space pirates and the who shot johhny rock versions here has small but similar audio issues(audio that plays out twice), less noticable but still.

 

but otherwise great work

These are not really sound issues.

 

In fact the game jumps to the next move and, if moves are close, sometimes it means that he reads twice.

 

It could be arranged but with a price (time). For MD1 i had more time ;)

Actually it's pretty normal.

So the main.singe, as all the .singe files goes into Singe/Script

Ok apparently you're running an old version (dbecause map.singe doesn't exist anymore).

 

You could redownload from the first page (both singe and the game)

 

But just wait for one day or two, i've got a new update coming very soon anyway that will refresh all games..

Hi Everyone,

 

Time for an update!

So, the LUA Engine goes to 3.23 with some new features. This small (less than 800k) update will concern all the QTE games (except DL2e).

 

New features:

- Advanced Menu: The menu is now divided in 2 tabs, one for gaming options and the other one for graphics. For exemple you can now change directly the color and size of the text or the place of various elements (score, lives,...)

- New gaming mode: Survivor is now available in the menu (under Game type). Very simple mode. One life, no continue, no save and a dedicated High Score. It's a Die and no retry, so at least games are quick ;)

- Revamped PATH action. i did this mainly for the future but PATH no integrate some optional transition frames you can play between moves.

- Revamped QUiT. You can now go back to the game if there was a mistake.

- Better integration of some sequences of video (like Continue/Game over).

- Several graphic improvements for the intro menu (for example Intro menu takes into account the fact there are trophies or not)

- Quit action for the menu.

- As usual few minor bug corrections.

 

So, to install, you can just grab this link and paste the content in the directory where the games are, it will update the engine too:

All the games (and Singe) from now are all updated to 3.23, so you don't need to update if you download them today. The tutorial has been updated too.

Quindi, il motore LUA passa a 3.23 con alcune nuove funzionalità. Questo piccolo aggiornamento (meno di 800k) riguarderà tutti i giochi QTE (eccetto DL2e).

- Esci dall'azione per il menu.

- Come al solito alcune correzioni di bug minori.

No each game has its own file.

The game engine is the same for all games (and will go to Singe/Script), but configurations files and of course game script depends on the game.

I've updated all the files with the updates you've provided on the last 2 posts. However it seems that Fire and Ice is not working correctly (v1 and v2). It plays the attract intro but once you press 1 to start the game, it shows a black screen. Game doesn't start.

 

If you press Escape it still shows the "exit option menu" but that's it.

 

Something with my files?

Probably. I've tested all games and they are working.

Could you launch the game, preferably not fullscreen, removing the -z from the bat.

This line for example:

 

Start Singe.exe -k -x 1920 -y 1080 -e 60 -d Fire_and_Ice/Index -v Fire_and_Ice/Movie/FaI.mp4 Fire_and_Ice/Fire_and_Ice_v2.singe

 

Then tell me which message you've got in the console.

Hi, new to the forums,

Just putting this bit of information out here if it's not already been mentioned

 

with the audio stuttering, if you have a device which you can't set to stereo (like a logitech headset, which only shows as 7.1) you can use virtual audio cable

https://vb-audio.com/Cable/

Install
go to windows sound settings (right click sound on taskbar > Sounds > Playback

right click the cable input device and choose set as default device (you will just lose your current sound output)

go into recording tab

right click cable output > properties > listen > enable listen to this device and in the dropdown choose your actual listening device (for me, I chose Logitech G633 headset)

you should have sound again

 

load up singe, and your audio will be working and lag free

nevermind.

I Had to redownload the video file.

Don't know why , something was bad with frames,

Now that i replaced the old video with the new all works.
