It's just not world but all related n-0 benami data. But I guess world is the most secured because ppl livestream it and upload videos of it on various social media platforms unlike other benami games.

It looks like a pretty standard update with challenge charts and paid customization, I must be missing something. What is weird about it?

The weird thing is, I kinda doubt if it's N-2....

 

 

At least they have Yuni and a long-awaited of Akira back from being non-canon.

I’m not 100% sure what that means, I’ve seen terms like N-0 before and was under the impression it meant latest version. But this update isn’t just customizing and challenge charts. There’s UI updates for sorting and the results screen. I’m sure there’s songs in there that we don’t have access to yet as well since there always is.

Turning off italics for the wall of jackets doesn’t make it an original stepmania concept, it’s still the same idea. X2-2013 was pretty much ripped right out of iTunes if you want to talk about stealing a concept.

It’s literally taken until this year for the wall of jackets to be recreated in StepMania without major issues (I personally consider the bottom row overlapping the folder like it does to be a major issue). When you scroll you can watch the jackets “shift” so to speak on folders where the bottom row overlaps. It’s very hacked together. I think it was around when Starlight 2.0 was released that the same issue for the top row was fixed. It’s taken years and a lot of very talented people to figure out how to make this kind of song wheel in StepMania. Konami has the advantage that their game is made to do it in the first place while StepMania is not made to do it at all which is why I referred to it as hacked together.

 

But generally I agree that World looks like a StepMania theme. Especially with how bare bones and empty it was at the beginning, combined with the speed mod options, it reminded me of DDR’s version of Simply Love. It wasn’t necessarily bad, as a matter of fact I liked it, but it definitely didn’t have the visual flare that screams “this is an official DDR product”. It has a lot more to it now and looks really good though.

This does not seem to be the case because I tried both starlight 2.1.0-HF2 and 3.0.0-beta2 and neither one had this overlap fixed

 

I don't think midflight digital's Lua devs were able to fix it or just ignored it as it's not game breaking

The top and bottom rows used to overlap and Starlight 2.0 is the first theme I know of to fix the top row. I’ve seen DDR World theme footage on YouTube that has the bottom row issue fixed.

The top row does seem to have worked already, even my DDR A3 theme has the top row working, but the bottom row is just a problem
