Quite an intresting piece of history this game when reading that it was basically an intel 286 processor running windows 95 with a custom graphics card, I remember having a 286 and thinking it was the best thing ever, that computers had got so powerful lol, well compared to my previous computer which was a Commadore 128 and with my level of knowledge just past the stage where I now knew, that a sega megadrive could not be used to connect to this new inteweb thing, how things change, I have to get this running for the sake of pure nostalgia..:very-good:

This game (arcade version) Never ran on a 286 that's Pre-Pentium days right there LOL The Hardware it came on was a Pentium II 233 64 meg ram Win95 OSR2 with Plus and tweaking software, And yes it was some "custom-ish" video card It ran / runs a Ventana 2D video card mostly used in high end simulators for 2D workloads, But most any good 2D card will work. (This card was used in game during the demo modes to run the AVI files to promote the game ect..) (and for running windows) Also it ran / runs a Obsidian 90-4440. This was kind of like a supped up Voodoo 2 PCI but it was AGP Half Height card. IIRC it runs a 100 MHz and the PCI voodoo 2 runs at 66,(Or was it 33) I forget, but I have a second PC running a voodoo 2 PCI and it is fine.

Yes, well I remember a lot of that hardware including the Voodoo 2, I never had much to do with the rest of it in terms of messing around with it, what was the Obsidan 90-4440, I have not heard of it before, was it some kind of maths co-processor or something? The oldest thing I have lying around now is an old early quad core Dell AMD Opteron tower server with a x1 PCI express nvidia geforce 8400 graphics card, I wish I had kept a large CRT monitor or TV with a VGA input though, I like the look of arcade games on them.

That card was the AGP version of a "voodoo 2" type accelerator card.  Unfortunately that is the only part of the PC I never took a photo of in my system. If you look here on this page you can scroll to the photo of the card.  http://www.thedodgegarage.com/3dfx/

The card is actually quite rare even in the 3dfx collectors circles. These were AS I have heard it only sold on high end simulators that needed fast 3D graphics. Like the Ventana 2D card these were never sold to the public, and only came in pre-built systems. This Ventana card used the same chipset as the Voodoo Rush but was stripped down to only have 2D output Unlike the Rush that has 3D onboard. It was not a "GOOD" 2D card but it worked LOL almost any other card from that time would beat this card in 2D rendering. But it is only used to play the AVI files on the game and to run the windows GUI so I guess it was good enough.

I was able to find and install the game following the TNT YouTube tutorial but I can't start a game and changing the controls in the options menu doesn't work.

Any chance someone here could dumb it down for me and help me get my controls set up? I want to use the mouse and key's like the original PC game.

Thanks in advance.
