1/ Check your music folder and "music_db", and change the game version date code (forgot to mention about change the date code in prob > ea_config)

 

2/ Wrong DLL, you are not using latest DLL

Anybody play in landscape mode? I run this with -w for windowed mode and use autohide task bar to gain a little extra viewable space. Only thing is the title bar is always there and I cannot find a way to hide it outside of going full screen (which requires rotating the screen). So has anybody found a way to get around that? I would like to rotate the screen but the stand that comes with my 38" monitor doesn't rotate.

What you're looking for terminology-wise is "borderless fullscreen" that's an option in a lot of games but normally has to be defined in the software.

 

If you have an Nvidia card I have heard of people who use a custom resolution in Nvidia Control Panel to do what you're saying, it's basically full screen but with black bars on the side, no borders, so that's probably your best shot.

I myself have tried to enable borderless fullscreen without a custom resolution and didn't find a way. 

 

You can get rotating monitor stands too that are pretty cheap, that would be the best way for sure if you can afford like 30 bucks for one. I use a wall mount that rotates my entire 65 inch TV to play at 120 fps Valkyrie, but if you're using a monitor you can get a stand that sits on your desk and doesn't need to be mounted on the wall.

 

That being said a 38 inch monitor is pretty big, so it may be hard to completely swivel via a mount, in which case you would also want to wall mount it. It's pretty easy!

Ah, I haven't thought of doing a custom res. So I guess instead of the traditional 1920x1080 (no idea what res the game runs at) we do a custom res of 1080x1920 instead and then run the game in full screen?

 

If that doesn't work I'll have to see if there's a monitor stand that can rotate a 38" screen. Great set up for you though, giant screen to play on.

Yep exactly! That's the theory at least! If you run into any issues I can try to hit up my friend who did it that way, but he hasn't played since vivid wave so maybe the EG cabinet is different? Worked well at the time though.

 

Also using a sim like Unnamed SV Clone is not that bad either and as far as I know, would support landscape without any issues. Anyways good luck.

 

edit: oh and yes the game runs at 1080p portrait, you are correct.

Just tried the custom res thing while in landscape mode by doing a 1080x1920 custom res. It doesn't work unfortunately. Forgot that the game does not play nice unless you specifically run it in portrait. Unless there's a way to force rotate the game while in portrait mode, only way to do full screen is to physically rotate the monitor.

Not sure if this needs to be said, but local matching through virtual LAN is working flawlessly!

Also, you can use the program Fullscreenizer and run it as admin, then have the game in windowed mode thru spicecfg and itll be borderless fullscreen. Also skips the refresh rate check of your monitors if you select windowed afaik

Does anyone know how to not get a expection access violation while playing megamix battle? It mostly crashes when loading into the megamix and crashes in the middle of the session. Here's the important part:

Fullscreenizer works like a charm in the custom 9:16 res. Thanks! No need to buy a monitor arm just for this game now.

1/ Yes, you can do that. Change ea_config in PROP FOLDER from "F" to "G"(If you are already patch dll with Valkyrie ON, If not > patch it), but I recommend to play Valkyrie with 120 or above.

2/ No, there is no need, unless you want to have full experience of the game. like a REAL CAB
