so when you say 'Data only' what does that mean in pratical terms?

data only means there is no dll with it.

Does anyone know anything about this?
I ran KFC-2024082700 to 2024091000 to 2024110500,
and 091000 had no problems and the game version was correct,
but when I updated to 110500 it went back to the original 082700.
Is bootstrap.xml corrupted?
I can't open bootstrap.xml with Notepad++.

Looks like the bootstrap in my link wasn't decrypted, I updated it w/ a properly decrypted version & you can grab it standalone here:

bootstrap.xml - 2024110500

I managed to get this working on my desktop PC with an nvidia card just fine, but when I transferred the files over to my handheld PC on an AMD chip, it's giving me the error of failed to insert camera error fix along with exception raised: exception_access_violation. Anybody else able to get this to run on their steam deck/rog ally/aya neo/etc? And yes the disable camera is checked in the options. And also yes I copied the nv****.dll files to the modules folder.

"failed to insert camera fix" can be ignored, it's not an issue.

Your game is crashing for another reason.

Post the log.txt.

Hello everyone! Do you also miss this jacket?

Resolved. The problem is the region set in the ea3-config.xml file. No problem for the Japanese region, some jackets censored for other options

Looking a little closer in the log, near the bottom it says nvapi64.dll not found. I am running an AMD APU but that particular dll isn't found in the spice2x download I got, it has 3 other nv dll files though

log.txt 23.21 kB · 3 downloads

again, just because you see a message, doesn't mean it's an error.  spice is just saying that it knows you have an AMD GPU so it turned on a setting on your behalf.

Your log just ends here, before showing what the crash was:

[2024/11/20 16:27:48] W:signal: exception raised: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION
[2024/11/20 16:27:48] I:signal: printing callstack

do you have rest of the file, or does it really cut off there? Can you copy what you see in the CMD terminal maybe?

That's the entire unedited log file, doesn't help for me to remove anything. Here's a screenshot of the terminal before it auto closes on its own

soundvoltex.dll loading at very high address (0x1b7940d0000) is very suspicious and a sign that you have weird antivirus or whatever interefering with it. Very odd.

People ran this on Asus Rog Ally just fine in the past, minus some audio issues.

I set an exception to the game folder through windows defender to rule that out. I don't see that high address anymore next to the soundvoltex.dll loading. But still exhibiting the same behavior. Could it be some sort of windows visual c or whatever I didn't install? It plays all my other games just fine
