 60gb I think so it's in my cab

when I have the ver4.52 I dump the 4.00  

a lot of work to move the cab (it's a fat chick)

You should have asked before you started !

Does the ssd still work in the arcade cabinet ?

Some security measures will destroy a arcade machine specific hdd / sdd mbr when connected to a windows PC !!!

 

The standard is tu use CHD format.

Read it very carefully bit by bit literally !!!

There was a really sad story in year 2010, when Nirin hard drive died and the arcade technician took the disk from another machine to make a copy using Acronis in Windows.

The copy is made, everything seems to be fine, but after connecting this HDD to the machine it no longer boots and says that you have a problem with the drive.

Stubborn technician didn’t stop and took a drive from third arcade.

The same story.

Nothing can stop our person, he calls his pal in another city to send him Nirin drive by mail.

All 4 machines were sent to London (Namco Europe) paid by technician who thought that stubbornness could win it all!

Recovery cost almost €8000.

 

So you know, some hdd's / ssd's have CUSTOM firmware !

To qoute from the above article, concerning Namco  ES1 machines:

 

Fortunately no, everything is simple yet evilly genius: drive’s Master Boot Record (MBR) has it’s Disk Signature field filled with zeros.

Right as you connect this HDD to your Windows machine, the OS sees zeros and don’t like it, generates a random Disk Signature and silently writes it to the disk.

Game motherboard reads MBR in boot process, sends it to the TPM.

When it’s time to decrypt the data, PCR are not exactly the same and decryption is not possible.

This was done intentionally—every Linux disk partitoning utility generate random Disk Signature, not zeros.

 

What to do if you’re as stubborn as the man in the above story and you have no working machines anymore?

Fear not!

Just write 4 bytes of zeros where they should be in the MBR, at the offset 0x1B8.

You can do it like this in Linux:

$ sudo dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdX bs=1 count=4 seek=440

 

Every kind of system got their own kind of security protection

And no, specialists will not make these tools needed public !

 

Try to clone these HDD's and make it work, good luck !

If you need help Dumping / backupping these drives, send me a message.
Because you need certain software and hardware, if there is something you don't have, then it saves me hours of typing.
Once i know what you have, i can guide you the right way.
And these drives can't be just copied, you need to do a hotswap inside of the original pc.
And there is another connector which needs to be taken loose after the boot up.
Otherwise it will reset half way the backup process and you can  start all over again.
Backup will be around 90GB, so make sure you have the space available.
When using usb3 connections, it takes about 30 minutes to make the backup.

Also, I made a tool to port songs from AC and Mobile to Switch in a second, here it is if someone have a modded Switch :

Looks like OP was just hoarded it for themselves lol.

 

Ringedge and Taito Type X Zero are the easiest things to dump ever, anyone can do it easily. 

 

Golden rule: never discuss anything about arcade PCB hacking or dumping to public.

The dump for GC 4EX have been up in nyaa for a while, have you got it working? could I ask for guidance if you have. No posts seem to exist about it which means it's either working and people are keeping it low-key or it's not working and therefore has no post about it.

So ummm due to the bemani and elpis patcher sites having GC 4Ex as an option, I'm inclined to believe that this has already been cracked.

 

Anyone got the goods? (files/resources needed to make it run) or at least point towards where to get them?

I got from nyaa.si the Groove Coaster 4EX INFINITY HIGHWAY (V4.52) dump and from virus-man the decrypted exe.

Configured jconfig but the sound is all distorted just like in 

 

 

Is there at this moment any way to get this version running with good sound (not falling back to Groove Coaster NOT4EX (modded GC2))??

Use onboard audio, not a external DAC.

Set Windows audio to 16 bit 44.1 kHz Stereo, otherwise try 16bit 48 kHz Stereo.

Set correct resolution for portrait mode. 

Rotate screen with Windows before you start the game.

if you got the sound working correctly please let me know how to do it

i use the onboard sound with proposed setting but sound is messed up 

other version (gc2) works fine
