I will try some things... in the meanwhile, try the -opengl option, since is necessary (among other things) to render the right colors in all games

Can I play the game without the mouse??

I like to use the keyboard.

Hi, you must move the files in the freedomfighter folder that contains the video files into the singe/freedomfighter folder, and, of course, rename the ff.txt that is inside into freedomfighter.txt, then rename the file setupgame_mouse.singe into freedomfighter.singe.

Doing so will permit the game execution

I followed these directions the best I could and I cannot get this game to work. It seems more complicated than the other ones you have released in the past. Do I have to download the daphne singe emulator also or is it built into the mega link for this game i downloaded from page one??

It's all included. Unpack the archive, do not touch folders and file locations, execute the freedom fighter.bat.
The structure is the same of the other two games.

If you want to modify the files location you must  follow the simple instructions that I provided, or modify the script files.

Do you have downloaded  the final version, with all the files included? For comparison, the games provided in the singe's thread are in multiple archives...

Is the download that includes everything the one that is on the first page of this topic??

Ok...I don't know what I'm doing wrong here but I can't get this game running. I downloaded the mega link from the first page of this topic and I extracted it and now what do I do with what files?? I tried starting the game without touching any folders at all after extracting it using the bat file and I got a whole lot of error messages. Please help:(:

Hi,
finally, this is my release of Freedom Fighter.

In the source material the video/audio is scrambled all over the LD, with variable speed too, so the reconstruction took about 100 hours or more.

Please look at the original material, then judge:

The original game allowed a random sequence of the scenes, my version follows a predetermined sequence that will lead you through all levels.

The sequence was reconstructed according to the original LD and the CD-I version (which was missing many scenes), as some sequences/images were rendered by the program and are not memorized in the LD, for the same reason some material was taken from the CD-I version.

The game is playable with mouse, no keyboard required, like the original).
In some sections the gameplay is very easy, in others it is very very hard.

Shoot when you hear ACTION, and discover the target area ;-)
Move when you hear MOVE, and discover the right direction...

To move right, shoot at the right half of the screen.
To move left, shoot at the left half of the screen.
To move down, shoot at the bottom half of the screen.
To move forward or up, shooy at the upper half of the screen.

As usual, feel free to modify the code)

Have fun!!!

I'm sorry, the game has moving targets that require mouse or lightgun 😔

If it helps. I fixed the Bmp errors by copying the sound and pics folders from a Daphne install then pasted the in the main Freedomfighter folder. Then it started right up.

famawizard youre a blessing. i'm 46 years old. i was there when when they first powered on this game at showboat arcade. I used to go to the arcade and watch people play the laser disc games because they were too expensive to play. I've been wanting to play this since the 80's!

its a real arcade game the compagny  close the door ,but 2 only was made and it's in the hand some collector

* There are 7 known instances of this machine owned by Act collectors who are active members. Of these, 3 of them are original dedicated machines, 3 of them are conversions in which game circuit boards (and possibly cabinet graphics) have been placed in (and on) another game cabinet, and one is a set of circuit boards which a collector could put into a generic case if desired.

As per the International Arcade Museum.

I have not seen this game in decades
I will have to take a look at this.
I could not even find enough parts to recreate a cabinet, let alone find a whole one

Question, if OP is still around
Is there a way to have it play the opening scene, where the old man gives you the laser pistol etc?
It starts with you running down the top of the train

Never mind

i edited the config file and set it to start at level 1, as well is turned off freeplay

Now i need to see what i could set up as a light gun, cause mouse too slow LOL

maybe try a Wiimote set up as mouse emulator

I ran into this also.  If you edit the file "fai.cfg" in the main freedomfighter folder, change the "dip_StartLevel" to 1.

You must copy folders "pics" and "sound" from a daphne emulator release and paste them in the root of freedomfighter main folder. I got it working like that. I wonder why the uploader haven't done that in the first place.

Anyway. Thank you very much, it's time for shooting!!!

In freedomfighter.zip there are an image of PLATOON and ActionMax. And in the included daphne some files are missing, as stated in the message before mine. Also there are two framefiles, inside singe/freedomfighter "fai.txt", inside freedomfighter "ff.txt".
The batch file is set to 1600x1200. If the monitor is smaller, Daphne gives an error, the game doesn't work. You, and all those who make ZIP archives with

Laser Game, should put the lower resolution (640x480?). The game always goes, and after that the player can set their own resolution.
I advise you to delete -opengl. This doesn't work on all PCs, and you can add this too later.

I recommend that you zip like the others, with these changes and with just the game.

I make a many test with your freedomfigher and it start ever from livel 8.
