SkyDrift patch for 60 hz / 60 fps

For those interested, I made a patch to fix the horrible 30fps cap of SkyDrift.

 

Here is the info to patch SkyDrift.exe.

Open SkyDrift.exe in the hex editor

Use Ctrl+G to go to a address

 

Example:

Enter this address

Offset: 000AB2BF

So you type 000AB2BF

Original: 21

There you see 21

Patch: 11

Change 21 to 11

And save

That easy !

I know what you mean. I'm having mine set up with a usb passthrough to use controllers for twin stick games.

No just once. You save a patched .exe and just run that patched ,exe everytime you want to run the game.

You should patch again. Sorry yesterday I did not post the final patch by mistake. Use the final patch for the correct in game speed.

I was about to post that the game speed is way too fast. However let me check with this new patch.

I tested the new patch, it's an improvement over the previous patch, but I still believe the game speed is still faster,can you tweak it a bit further.Also to note sky drift has bare-bones graphics options. Can you make an exe that at least runs this at 4k resolution? Also I would like to see a patch where the game can run in 120 Hz/FPS without breaking game physics that would be amazing.

Yes sorry, I posted the wrong patch. I fixed it yesterday. Re-patch with the updated info on the first post. The game speed is not faster if you enable vsync on a 60fps monitor. The lap times and everything is the same as before.

 

Also I do not have a 4k screen, so unfortunately will not look into a graphics patch. AllGameRH should work though, so worth trying.

This updated patch really works well. duncon2016 kindly update the pc gaming wiki page regarding this patch.
