Hi wallmachine,

The link seems to be still working. I can reach it. Is it being blocked for you? Does the site load but when you try and download it fails to load. Make sure popups are not blocking the page, since it requires to popup to download.

Just tried it again and it loaded... maybe it was down or my internet being slow.

How to avoid the fraud notice by the game?

Are you getting a fraud notice when you get into the game? I think this might be Sega's crackdown on it. I believe that this dump still contacts Sega for something, mostly related to All.net download. So there was a notice that came out from Sega indicating that you may receive a fraud message on your screen. So I think we might be dead in the water until we can get a local server connection to pull the all.net connection, which I believe is quite hard to do.

Note: Once you connect to the virtual server once, you can then start running the game without having it running at all. I tested it several times and it boots fine.

I don't know if any in-game features might be disabled, but I play through the first couple of stages and it works fine without any virtual networks.

Maybe someone else can verify.

So I did use wireshark, while I was unplugged from my modem and I can't seem to find the right traffic going out my network adapter, as there is quite a lot like my anti virus/malware checking for online and other applications attempting like Discord and such. I turned all things that would be contacting outside and still it was hard to pinpoint.

But I know it does contact, since if I am unplugged from my Internet, but still plugged into my local network. I get the error right at boot up.

Error 8005

Network type error (WAN)

which means it does attempt to go outside to the Internet. So I think it does talk outside most likely to establish connection to download the All.NET stuff. Though if I just disable my network adapter on my computer. I get into the game, it checks the All.Net router and fails, then attempts it a couple more times before it boots into the game. Once this happens, I now lose connection to card reader, so progress saving is fully disabled. I will try just unplugging my network, then plugging it back in as soon as I get into the game to see if it can connect to the minime service for aime card connection.

Posté(e)

Alright, I think I am going crazy or I just have no clue how this works LOL

So just unplugged my network cable from my computer ran everything, and it connected fine. Card reader and everything...

If I unplug my self from my modem I get that Error 8005.

If I disable my network adapter. It just attempts 3 times to connect to All.Net fails, but game boots. Then I cannot connect to minime server, which makes sense, since you made your local IP it, but since I disabled my network adapter the IP is not present so no where to route. This I understand.

The whole unplug from modem vs unplug from my computer... does not make sense. lol

Thanks for testing. As I have also said, the game does not need the Minime virtual server to run and it seems the card progress also works independently.

However, I would tend to think it does need to “touch base” upon the first start-up connect in order for the game to work.

I just tested and the game works fine without any network connections so perhaps this was more for multiplayer setup.

Yea I was just worried just in case, since I read the post by Sega on it, I read their terms and services, but I don't think we are, but they can interpret it to what ever they feel if it bides by them technically. I was just making sure. I know it attempts but its just weird is all heh.

Ok back to helping troubleshoot more problems or attempt to heh.

Thanks

I know what you mean and thanks for testing.

I guess playing an arcade game on our PCs means all of SEGA’s terms and conditions can fly out the window but agree best to stay offline for obvious reasons.

Seeing the game does not require an internet connection to run, perhaps it is recommended to not connecting online after the first connection to get the game working as it does expose our IPs to the inter-webs!

Thanks for all your help, buddy!!

Confusing

Did you leave the pc connected to the modem but disconnected the modem from the internet connction in the wall ?

This is a tricky one because i blocked all game related inbound and outbound connections in the firewall

Teknoparrot is not in the firewall list but still can update ?

How does Teknoparrot do that outside of the firewall rules ?

So what does go where for ID zero ?

:gene:

Game runs fine on a pc without internet connection.

Try creating a .env file in root of minime folder edit it to have

HOST_EXT=IPAddress

Place the IP address of the computer you want running minime.

@bojo5150

Some have gotten it working from another location, I myself and most others have it on C:\.

You can definitely try, but I have never gotten it to work outside of the C:\

Might be related, Are you getting a wall of text spamming Cannot get Accounting info.

If so make sure the game directory is set to not read only, it is usually a permission issue that causes that wall of text, it might fix the JVS Error 6401. I will see if I can compile an error log sometime, to see if we can have an error log with the resolution to it.

Game keeps going back to read only after changing all sub folders?

Does this game have to be installed on the C: drive or can I follow the tutorial using a different HDD?

Any root of HDD, e.g. C:\ , F:\  etc

That's normal - as long as Steps 12-15 are done correctly and the game loads - the game's properties no longer matter.

You just need to do it once. It will always do that, but the files are cleared. Don't worry. just do it once and it should be good.

I don't get the Cannot get accounting info but the jvs error on screen lol

@dotexe

Try setting inject.exe to run as administrator, right click, properties, compatibility tab, check Run as Administrator.

Run start.bat as normal and see if that fixes it. If it works after that, then you can close down and remove what you just did on Inject.exe, then run the game as normal.

You can do it. You have to adjust values in segatools.ini, where you change it to dinput and then label the device name. I know it does work, and can use it. You should enter the device name that comes up and shifter name. Like G27 and stuff for Logitech. The buttons are labelled based on what buttons and commands they equal to. I am going to test my Driving Force GT.

I'm sure i will get it in the end so it should work with my setup as it's in four parts not like say a G27 that is one device.I have my wheel that should come under the name simucube like it does in everything then i have a button box  that is listed in TeknoParrot and all other racers as 6 axis 32 button with hat switch and i mapped the buttons with the same info as in TeknoParrot then a fanatec shifter.If i put the wrong valies in for say brake like say y- the game will not boot i get the jvs error.If i map the pedals that are Fanatec clubsport pedals v3 and everthing in my list as think because the game cant use y- or x+ so i used wheel axis X gas RX brake RY the game boots but nothing works no buttons anything?

Fixed this error just wanted to know if there is a way to link up a pair of pcs for head to head racing

Good to hear it's finally working for you!

I believe head-to-head play is possible but you need to set up a local area network. Try using this software called Zerotier: https://www.zerotier.com

I have not used it but heard it's relatively easy to set up and is opensource.

Anyone have this working with a G27 wheel? If so could you share your segatools.ini please?

Thanks!

Try this possibly? Someone had used it before but I don't have a G27 but I believe this may work, you can check and confirm by confirming the keys.

[dinput]
; Name of the DirectInput wheel to use (or any text that occurs in its name)
; Example: TMX
;
; If this is left blank then the first DirectInput device will be used.
deviceName=G27
; Name of the positional shifter to use (or any subset thereof).
; Leave blank if you do not have a positional shifter; a positional shifter
; will be simulated using the configured Shift Down and Shift Up buttons
; in this case.
;
; Can be the same device as the wheel.
;
; Example: T500
shifterName=G27
; Pedal mappings. Valid axis names are:
;
; X, Y, Z, RX, RY, RZ, U, V
;
; (U and V are old names for Slider 1 and Slider 2).
; The examples below are valid for a Thrustmaster TMX.
brakeAxis=RZ
accelAxis=Y
; DirectInput button numbers to map to menu inputs. Note that buttons are
; numbered from 1; some software numbers buttons from 0.
start=18
viewChg=16
; Button mappings for the simulated six-speed shifter.
;shiftDn=1
;shiftUp=2
; Button mappings for the positional shifter, if present.
gear1=9
gear2=10
gear3=11
gear4=12
gear5=13
gear6=14

Some of this might be off, so please try this and or confirm the numbers to see if it works.
