Information

Outrun 2 and HoTD 3 have PC ports

 

Outrun 2 Beta, Virtua Cop 3, Ghost Squad and Crazy Taxi are playable on a modified Xbox

(Virtua Cop 3 and Ghost Squad requires an Xbox dev unit or a 128mb ram modified retail xbox)

 

Outrun 2 Special Tours is playable on TeknoParrot (lindberg version, see the TP thread for more info)

I think Virtua Cop 3 has been 80% emulated on PC by way of CXBX.

I can get cxbx to boot outrun 2 beta but it has "minor graphical issues". i've seen VC3 running fine on cxbx and ollie king has been shown working.

Other games get stuck on a black screen or JVS error

its rubbish,  only like 4 games run  but run poorly.

demul it lang, to get ya foot in the door, get used to it now.  But answer ya question fuk all actually work, VIRTUA COP 3 works well tho, i play it often on cxbx emu

Star Wars - Knights of the Old Republic  works badly, hardly ever play this as it isnt emulated very well

Hi Guys, when playing cxbx virtua cop 3 do you know how to fix this some sort of weird screen obscuring artefact happened towards the end of the second level.
A graphical bug that seems to have carried over from the previous version of the emulator, I think it was meant to be smoke or something that's just not displaying correctly? Thank you.

Hi, everybody. I have an arcade machine called" crazy taxi " with Sega Chihiro. Instead of a GD-rom, there is a compact flash card inside. There are 2 bin files on the map.
The game freezes immediately after the first passenger arrives.
How do I fix it?

ok so, question time. does anyone know how much access the xbox emulator on the 360 has access to? i can get virtual cop to launch but it immediately freezes when it says starting virtual cop, and crazy taxi 3 freezes on the xbox logo. also the launcher throws an error, i have to launch the files from XBE directly. I was thinking if this could launch on the 360 we might be able to access more than 128mb of ram and run more of the games. anyone else tried this?

I don't know what you mean by "how much access" It has a limited list of original Xbox games that can work on Xbox 360. If you have an rgh and have the hacked compatibility files a few more games work but overall it's still less than 50% of original Xbox games that work. If that's what you're asking. 

 

I've never seen anything that says Virua Cop 3 works on Xbox 360. I'm pretty sure it does not. Crazy Taxi 3 if you get the original Xbox game not Sega chihiro rom it should worked with hacked compatibility on rgh only.

I made a typo, I meant to say how much RAM the xbox emulator has access to when running on the 360.  Do you mean the hacked compatibility files released in 2018? The synopsis says:

 

• Xbe signature checks removed (lets you run unsigned code)
• Xbe section hash checks removed (lets u run hacked xbes)
• Game region checks removed (region free baby!)
• Game media checks removed (play games from your hard drive)
• Debug/Devkit xbes supported (run your own xbox1 code)
• Attempt to play unsupported games (doesn't mean it will work hehe)
• In game HUD support * NEW * (this will let you access the Xbox 360 in-game menu while playing your OG Xbox title!)
• Cross/in game voice chat * NEW * (this should let you use voice chat during OG Xbox gameplay, this is untested as I do not use online features myself, this may not work)

I'm trying to get the chihiro games to work with it, but the loader itself throws an error when i try to launch it, and direct booting doesn't really work well on xbox in the first place.

Like I said there's no reason to believe the chiriro games work. If you can't get it to work with hacked compatibility you are out of options. There isn't any other way to get original Xbox games to work. It's not like a typical emulator wher you can change settings and try different things. There's nothing else you can try.

 

It didn't work you should move on because it's never going to work because there's no reason to believe someone is going to improve compaitiblity. Even the 2018 hacked files didn't improve compatibility make any additional games work from the previous one in 2011. That synopsis you posted didn't improve compatibility.  I get that it sounds good and at the time we were all hopefully but it was a nothingburger.  I am positive more than any actual original Xbox games though that the Chihiro games do not work on Xbox 360, period.

I get what you are saying. As a last ditch effort I will reach out to the dev who did the latest compatibility update and see if he thinks anything can be done. If not then i will give up and try to piggyback more ram into my OG Xbox haha(joking)

Yes, it's a pitty. Had the same problem, when I recently tried this game with my new sinden gun.. Maybe we have to wait for an update of cxbx..

I have my own opinion about piracy at all: Personally for me it is only piracy, if I steal a game from a company, that I could have bought or payed for in an arcade. But I live in germany. Here we don't have any arcade's at all and never had this type of culture. So I'm not able to pay for anything I'm interested in and around emulation at all. If I could, I would pay for it!..

Hello guys, when I try to run Ghost Squad and The House Of The Dead III on a Cxbx Reloaded (v. 3th October 2021) both tell me 

 

"error 11 JVS I/0 board is not connected to main board"

I got a Sega Chihiro Redump set and each game contains 1 .cue file and 3 .bin files. How to convert from .cue-.bin to .xbe so cxbx-reloaded emulator can run the games?

Tried to install what you suggested (gxiso) but i get error message that the file MSVCR71.dll was not found... Reinstalled the program but the same error message appears...

 

Maybe @Harry99710 knows how to convert the files?

Yes, i mounted the .cue file to a virtual drive using daemon tools but when browsing to the virtual drive the software won't detect a gxiso file. Maybe gxiso file is a special format? 

At least Virtua Cop 3 should run good and maybe other games as well,  on PC. I'm using a PC. VC3 running, seems ok:
