I've read this topic several times to try to figure out what's wrong on this side. (Win 7 64bits)

I know there are more people who have trouble setting up controls, but something is wrong.

I delete xinput1_3.dll and/or dinput8.dll like you say

Strange, when I delete xinput1_3.dll the game still run xinputter.ini because I change [DEBUG] UnlockMainMenu = 1

I supose deleting the xinput1_3.dll in gamefolder xpinputter.ini is not to run.

If I rename xinput1_3.dll from \windows\sysWOW64 game don't run

I have a cabinet with 2 joysticks+keyboard+360Gamepad, every changes I make ALWAYS work Fist Cabinet Joystick, but can't change buttons and stick don't work.

this file helped me stopping my dinput panel from getting recognized by the game, which means my guitar now works :)

 

@emulor I suggest you use x360ce and make your own x360ce.ini and tkae xinput1_3.dll from it, and also use the dinput blocker if you have another dinput gamepad plugged in

green red yellow blue frets should be the abxy buttons with same color, orange should be L1, whammy bar should be right analog X+, guitar tilt should be right analog Y+, pluck should be dpad up/down (also use the "alternateguitar" mode in the advanced settings tab)

I managed to use the joystick of xbox 360, the same thing happens with me, after the first song nothing works or the game simply hangs, does not advance, the only option that remains and press ESC and return to windows 10.

 

J'ai réussi à utiliser le joystick de la Xbox 360, la même chose se produit avec moi, après la première chanson, rien ne fonctionne ou le jeu se bloque, ne progresse pas, la seule option qui reste et appuie sur ESC pour revenir à Windows 10.

I just tried again the button combos with both an x360 controller and my keyboard and only the Esc key is responsive. (deleted direct8.dll tried the key combos, then deleted the xinput1_3.dll and tried again) I then went into debug mode and again no buttons on either respond, not even the x360 analog or D-pad.

 

If I use the original release before Freeplay was set it boots up to a different screen and the Keyboard Enter key works but nothing else.

 

I’m at a loss on how to get any controls working.

Controls work, it is just the start G+B+O that does not work. I also tried Y+B+O and it did not work either for me. Will debug to see if I can help fix it.

à mon avis ça a plus à voir avec une limitation hardware des claviers

il me semble que si 3 touches se situent sur la même ligne de la matrice clavier et qu'elles sont appuyées en même temps, le buffer clavier a du mal à suivre et de ce fait, le décodage aussi

j'arrive qqls fois à le démarrer au clavier en jouant avec la "rémanence" des touches (2 touches appuyés, puis en relacher une et appuyer sur la dernière, le tout à faire très très rapidement). au ralenti, on a 5-4 5-1 par exemple

Partial solve my problem.

Only try copy Dinput-x360cev21.zip > Blocker > download dinput8.dll to game folder. This solve the mapping keys for the menu, now keyboard works with xinput.dll from game folder and my custom keys inside xinputter.ini. I'm using Joy2key to mapping keys to cabinet joystick.

Only button guitar mapping aren't working, but I haven«t time now, I will try late.

dude, how i can edit the launcher for put start button on xbox360 gh guitar or how i can edit on .ini file?

Has anyone been able to get a second guitar working? I bought one of the x360 xplorer guitars and it seems to work well for one player, wondered if I should get another.

Keyboard settings

 

START - 1/4/5

 

GREEN - 1

RED - 2

YELLOW - 3

BLUE - 4

ORANGE  - 5

SKIP - 6

UP - O

DOWN - L

 

I dont know the keystrokes for strum up and down yet, does anyone know?

Install aio redists and dependancies like dotnet vc mfc dx d3d.....

Do you use original mapping or controller ? 

If controller, try x360ce.... 

If keyboard, try changing mapping in xinputter.ini for your not working buttons... 

And remapping attract start is not possible atm...

Ok solved the issue with the game not starting. I changed the key assigned to BLUE (it was 4) to G, and now if I press the 1 + G + 5 the game starts. So you will need to assign keys to ones which work for your keyboard when pressed simultaneously. Test them with UnlockMainMenu=1 => Options => Switch Test

I suppose game takes any keyboard as standard qwerty one and that makes my mapping sometimes wrong... Cause i have a french azerty...

Numbkeys=0

Numbjoys=1

 

Or changing

Numbjoys=0

 

Every thing work perfect in game menus, but ingame, ALWAYS is mapping wong to Button 1 = Orange Button 5=Red Button 6=Yellow Button7=Blue

you must keep Numbkeys=2

That dinput file does it work on all games? My joystick in my cabinet is the wrong way round which is not a problem usually becuase  use joy2key to correct it in most games. But some like mortal kombat and street fighter newer games are locked to your joystick if its plugged in so you cant change it in joy2key. would adding this file override that and let me map using a keyboard

That I do:

NEVER change xinputer.ini from Mohkerz or joystick never will work correct. (Except you want menus UnlockMainMenu = 1)

Use file Dinput-x360cev21.zip > Blocker > download dinput8.dll (link above)

Use Joy2keys and create a new profile and assign cabinet joystick and button to mach xinputter.ini from Mohkerz.

And Voilá!

Now I will trainning for this:

only download, set up on default and put 1 original gh controller (gh3 xbox360 guitar)

I’m finally up and running too! In my case Mohkerz controls in the xinputter file worked fine with my keyboard. What fixed it for me was using the direct8.dll from the x360ce zip linked on page 4.

I got the keyboard controls working but my joy2key wont map them to my joystick, it's likethe game is not reading joy2key
