Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 5 (2014 update 5)

 'Wangan', literally bayshore in Japanese.

Works fine with TeknoParrot version 1.0.0.201

 

Executable files is, wmn5r.exe

 

First,I'll write up the procedure for setting up a VS play network config. (before I forget)

 

Here we go !

 

First make note / pictures of the original settings in the service menu before you change them !

 

Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 5, does NOT like to work stand alone, when configured for LAN VS play !

(At least the as slave configured cabin(s))

 

You are going to configure the settings for Versus play on two PC's.

The game will probably not work standalone with these network VS settings.

 

Second I recommend to use static IP addresses on your network cards.

Use extra network cards and a crossover cable for a direct connection, if needed.

 

Let us setup Cabin1 (left)

In TeknoParrot Game specific settings.

Set the game .exe location (wmn5r.exe)

Next check these boxes:

General - Freeplay. (if needed)

General - Terminal Emulator.

Terminal Emu Config - 2P Event mode.

General - White screen fix. (if needed)

Set your General Network Adapter IP to  the setting of your network card.

 

Windows key+ R

Set your Input mapping, also for test mode.

At least test, service, enter switch and D-pad directions for the moment

I used the D-pad, LB, RB, and right stick press for the moment.

 

Now the fun begins, I can not read Japanese, my neighbour can, but I still have not asked him about translating.

 

I'll try to make it clear, here we go.

 

Go into Test mode, by joystick button press when the game boots.

Go to the second line, enter. (joystick right stick press)

Go to the top line, where it says 1, or at least set it to 1 !

The two IC lines should be left off.

The line below that something to do with force  feedback ?

Set the top line to 1 ?

Go to the two character line and press enter to exit this config.

 

Go to  the ninth line, press enter.

You should see a screen with IP adresses.

Go one line above (only choice) and refresh the IP adresses.

Go to the two character line and press enter to exit this config.

I have no idea what the settings are on the two line page, I did not use it in this configuration.

Go to the two character line and press enter to exit this config. 

You should be back at the Test menu start screen.

Press the test button to exit the test menu.

The game should restart.

Stop it for the moment and configurate the joystick / steering wheel as needed in Teknoparrot.

 

Now the settings for the second cabinet (right).

 

Let us set the TeknoParrot settings for Cabin 2 (right)

In TeknoParrot Game specific settings.

Set the game .exe location (wmn5r.exe)

Next check these boxes:

General - White screen fix. (if needed)

Set your General Network Adapter IP to the setting of your network card.

It works fine for me except the red and yellow message,

about not being able to use the passport at the moment.

I just used that pegases TmpgEncoder and everytime you start it you have to be on the net! Its the most spammy video edit program I ever used, extremely slow too! Although it did do a great job all my videos are at 2k now! Used the NEW release of the patcher for the wmn5r.exe at 2560X1440 worked great too. Although its nice to play this in 2k on my main machine it looks way better on my cab at 1920x1080! Just more defined. Thanks Petje for the info! I would recommend finding a better video edit program though. The main settings are 320 CBR stereo at 44khz, High Quality under other, and your desired resolution. Glad to uninstall that Tmpg though used Revo Uninstaller to be sure I got rid of all its leftovers.

I have been trying to set up a private VPN server for online WMMT5 for a while and it has been a real headache.

Unfortunately some people in the community that has been able to achieve this a while back has been unwilling to share how to do this, which is really sad. Anyways, I have found a solution that works.

 

Download and install SoftEther VPN server for the OS of your choice then configure it as shown in this video except from the local bridge part.

 

There are 2 key changes you need to make.

1. Under local bridge settings create a bridge between your network card and the Virtual Hub you have created. (see picture 1)

 

2. Under Virtual Hub Extended Options is the big one that was the key to it all. Change the BroadcastStomDetectionThreshold to minimum 256. (see picture 2)

This makes the other VPN clients that doesn't run the terminal emulator detect and stay connected to VPN client that runs the terminal server emulator.

Since the 1st wmmt5 of 2014 and until the last Wmmt6 R of 2019 it is indeed the Namco ES3 system which works with Windows 7

For information, friends managed to add new cars from WMMT5 dx + to wmmt5 game and it works.  If wmmt5 dx + was a game under ES1 (Linux) system as you say then it might not work while it is working.

j'ai gardé le bitrate et son d'origine mais j'ai upscale en 2560x1440+lancoz

original Movies Info : WMV9 compatible WMV8, bitrate 30000, WMA sound 320.

pour tester, le plus simple c'est de reencoder la video d'intro (w5_d00.wmv) afin de verifier si l'encode a fonctionné,

/!\ sur 11 movies, 7 n'ont pas de son [les fichiers w5_ et l'ending]
