Yeah Its playable, I currently have the install discs, dongle dump and emulator program, but you need to have a  USB I/O card either a Nytric USBI/O, GVRI/O Mini, or a Nytric USBI/O Extreme, from my understanding in order to get it to boot, plus I haven't figured out a way to use a mouse and keyboard, and or controller, this is a Trackball game which you may already know. So who knows how to nop out I\O instructions, and de-hasp the executable so we dont have to use the dongle emulator, or I/O card, plus there is a card reader that needs it instructions removed or emulated somehow, this can be bypassed for local play but in order to play in tournaments and online you need a GlobalVr players card and card reader. Maybe JoyToKey will work for trackball emulation but I dont no how to configure it properly. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone can help?  Cannot get controls remapped at all.. at startup, always defaults back to original mapping, even if all the values have been changed .

 

Trying to remap controls to Ipac2.

I had a nightmare setting this up, I think for maybe the same reason, in the end I cheated.

 

As I couldn't change the controls in here, I used Autohotkey to remap my arcade sticks and buttons to match the default controls, and then ran that AHK only when playing this game.

 

Not sure if that will work for you?

Thanks . Will give that a try.  You wouldn't mind posting your ahk script?  I'm pretty newb to setting up ahk correctly..

Yes I did using AHK's below

 

Attached are 2 ahk scripts.

Joysticks.ahk and joysticks.exe are for the joysticks remapping - I know you are surprise by that!! 

Madden is to use with a front end to load everything and close everything with one simple file

 

I imagine you will need to change the "1Joy10::x" parts to be the correct arcade button you want.

 

The bit from "2Joy6" to "return" is to allow player two to select their team in team selection screen by holding down button 6 on their arcade box...after this button 6 isn't used. It is a dirty work around and best I could get.

 

If you decide to use Madden.ahk and Madden.exe obviously you will need to change the pathways in it for your setup.

 

I have a shortcut to shell.exe (which is kept on C drive root with the rest of the game) in the same folder as the ahk is kept just to make things easier for me which is where the 2nd Run command is aimed at.

 

I also use Press and hold joystick button 8 for 5 seconds to close everything (Escape is my backup button in case it goes wrong)

 

Hopefully that explains everything.

Just remembered this originally came with a launcher (I think?), I can't remember why but I didn't use that, there was a reason at the time (but all I remember is spending days on this to get it to work and the rest I have blocked from my memory for the sake of my sanity) however if you are using the launcher then the Madden ahk and exe will be a waste of time

I have the Nytric mini and I can't get the recovery cd to install Windows embedded. Do you have to have a cd rom to install or will a dvd drive work? I have XP pro on a machine. How do I get the install discs to work?

How do I get the install discs to work?  Rawbe you have to have a CD-Rom in order to install the os, Well actually there is a way to load it thru usb using plop boot manager. You can use another version of xp or windows that's not embedded up to windows 7 but you have to do some heavy modification to the install scripts within the installation disks in order to bypass some system checks. I have isos that are already modified I will share a link for those who would like to upload by the end of the day today or tomorrow if that helps!

Here is a link to a All-in-One installation game disc.  You will need to have a version of xp embedded preferably running with updates to sp2 and all the correct drivers for your motherboard installed prior to installing the actual game which is provided in this link.  Like I stated before you could get this up and running on other windows systems even vmware but the installation process is kinda complicated so I would stick to installing the orig rescue disk then your drivers than the AIO install disc. SWEEEETTTT!!! Downloading now! I need to get a CDROM to install WinXP Embedded. I have a Happ trackball too. I will be looking for a card reader if I get everything working properly. Thanks for your help! I hope to get this working!!

Yeah so.. I'm not sure who leaked this guide but...  It's not going to help anyone.  It requires you have the files that are referenced in that PDF --  and the link isnt' there, and i just disabled sharing of that link from my dropbox.

 

Those instructions aren't ready yet, and if you try to onboard a cabinet onto the community server using those instructions it will not work -- world tour mode will be broken..

I find it crazy that with all these incredible games that have been hacked that no one can get this game running.....especially eliminating the Nytric card.

rawbe -  I don't think it's that far off.

 

It's complicated.  I've reverse engineered and am running a community server that cabinet owners are connecting to for tournament mode.  This game is pretty tightly tied to a SQL Server database, and hacking it out would disable the most important chunk of the game: world tour mode.  All progress is saved in the database as well, so it's really not as easy as "hack it all out and make it run"..   It also requires a smartcard to play world tour mode and online, but I've seen that be hacked out in other loaders, I'm sure that could be done as well.  

 

There are also some 5 dependent processes that run on the machine. All in all installing it is kind of a pain in the butt, and getting it to run is not an easy exercise.  However, maybe in time (we'll see).   It's a fun game and holds up even today.. graphics are pretty good, and with a widescreen hack look even better.

Thanks for your insight. I didn't realize it was so painstaking to get emulated. I would guess Batman or NFS Carbon would be harder than an old golf game but now I know better. Also, maybe I am reading your comments wrong but it seems you were not happy that the guide was "leaked"? If so, why? I have heard that people are playing online with an emulator. That came from Global VR. Global also stated they don't mind. The online players seem to be welcoming to new players joining but they are not welcoming to offering the resources to make that happen.

People are playing online currently, not with an emulator, but on a hosted server that I reverse engineered and built from scratch.  Another person had developed a more rudimentary server previously that they took offlline, so I reverse engineered all of the protocols, encryption, etc and built a working community server from the ground up.

 

Everyone (except me) who is joined to the server is using original hardware and recovery discs, running on XPEmbedded.  As of right now to play this game you need a Nytric , a working card reader, and a Global VR card to participate in tournaments.  The server works almost exactly the way the server from GlobalVR did.

 

The issue is, I don't need people getting cabinets, using an unproven guide to upgrade, then potentially corrupting their data and/or causing issues with the server when connecting, causing a crazy support headache for me.  I don't have the bandwidth to support that.  Also, it's very likely that when/if we get a good loader that would allow bypassing of the nytric and allow for "soft" smartcards,  I'll require some kind of certification of each install before I allow them to join the server, likely via some kind of a service that gets installed on the machine that can report back if anything is modified out of band and bans that "cabinet".  The community is great and is regularly playing and opening the floodgates to a bunch of shoddily created machines with a bunch of other crap on them, created using a guide that is not ready for primetime would be a major problem.

No, this is a newer version. The VR one is closer to "real" madden games than the one in your video. The video is like an NBA Jam version of Madden.

I can't even put into words how much I love this game. I started playing it a few months ago, but I wanted it for a long time, even before it appeared on sale. And now that I've received a PS4 for my birthday, along with this game, I can spend some of my free time playing it. My mother always tells me not to play this much anymore, but I don't even play for 2-3 hours a day, so I think it's okay. The running game is noticeably smoother, and X-Factor traits make superstar players actually feel like a force to be reckoned with on the field. I even started buying MUT 21 COINS PS4, and my gaming experience now is so much better.

So I'm having a real hard time with this one.  I for one can not get the controls to remap as many of you have also had this issue however that is not even my biggest issue....my biggest issue is that the esc button does not exit the program then I am stuck fighting my system to get the game closes.  Has anyone else had this issue and if so how were you able to get it fixed?
