It got stuck due to a missing video playback module.

 

Inside the DDR A folder there's another folder named "com". You'll find two dlls used for video playback in DDR A, which is k-clvsd.dll and xactengine2_10.dll.

 

Open Command Prompt with administrator, go to the "com" folder, and then do this:

"regsvr32 k-clvsd.dll

regsvr32 xactengine2_10.dll"

 

The video playback should then work properly in DDR A and you would not get stuck again.

Hello all, new face here. I appreciate everyone's detailed instructions on how to get this game working. Unfortunately, I can't get the songs with videos to load. I keep following these steps, but can't get them to work. Whenever I get to the CMD part, I just get errors. Does anyone have any advice on what could be the issue?

What kind of errors? Please share to us.

Also, when registering DLLs in general, you have to make sure that you run CMD "as Administrator" or else the registration of DLLs will fail.

Side tip: at the same time, don't just go running everything else "as Administrator." You run things "as Administrator" ONLY when it is required to do so. There are also negative effects for running stuff "as Administrator" when it is not supposed to be. But for this case, yes, you SHOULD run CMD "As Administrator."

Thanks for the quick response. It would basically state that the DLLs were not able to initiate. I did, however, find a video driver that works and not everything is playing fine without having to do this route. Installed a "K-lite" codec pack. I was also using the admin account, so not too sure why it was giving me such a headache. But, thankfully I got it working!

@bxdiz Codec packs also work, but sometimes it is "overkill" for the requirement (that's why the default process is to simply register those DLLs). When I was new I also used codec packs. But later on, not anymore. I just used those DLLs and uninstalled codec packs.

 

"Using the Admin Account" (logged in as am Admin user on the PC) does not mean the same thing as "launching CMD as Administrator." The instruction I gave was to "run CMD as Administrator" when registering DLLs.

 

Ideally we should be able to see the specific error because it will help us help you.

 

You will know that you did it correctly when you see the top portion (the title) of CMD, saying "Administrator." If it does not have the word "Administrator" then you are not running CMD as Administrator (even if your Windows account is an Admin User).

 

See the difference of CMD being run as an Administrator below. One just says "Command Prompt" while the other says "Administrator: Command Prompt."

Final Note:

 

This will be the last/final "Update Pack" to DDR Ace arcade data. I worked on this last/final update to formally close out the entire Update Pack series for DDR Ace since there will be no more new/additional updates that will actually come in. DDR A20 Update Pack, on the other hand, is still alive/ongoing but will also close out eventually when or "IF" DDR A20 Plus data gets leaked.

 

As this is "Ace Final" data, this means that this data snapshot is somewhere between the transition from DDR Ace to DDR A20. So, expect some DDR A20 songs in this release. Therefore: do expect some "glitches" if/when you try to play A20 songs/Gold Cab mode because again, technically this data is still DDR Ace. Ideally you're supposed to be using DDR A20 data by now.

There will be no more updates coming in to DDR Ace so we decided to publish the latest and final DDR A Update Pack which includes "DDR Ace Final" data/snapshot. DDR A20, on the other hand, is still active.

This calls for a unification of the game launchers of both games.

Hi Guys,

I might not be releasing new updates for the meantime after this version 1.2.1. guys...I'll have to now return this computer I'm using to my mother's house, and I'll be rebuilding my rig (it's been pending for quite some time). I can still participate in chat and forums, but no new updates for the time being. Then again I think this is everything that the launcher needs; I can't think of anything else to add (which is technically a good thing, right? ).

Download the latest Bemanitools 5 (4 will not work) and unpack it to the game's "contents" directory
Edit prop/ea3-config.xml to set your services URL and PCBID
(Optional, but recommended) Change <dest> in ea3-config.xml from J to A to select Asia region.
Run config.bat to set up input and card readers
If using SMX dance pads: Download the SMX.DLL from the SDK: https://bin.jvnv.net/file/u5WBN/SMX.dll
If using SMX dance pads: Delete ddrio.dll, rename ddrio-smx.dll to ddrio.dll

i got a ddr a20 (MDX-001-2020020300) seems a problem like, When i turn On a Option Menu example Hi Speeds and the song are select the game will be freeze on tittle stage.. And some other song have a same issue

The contents of the .sql file for DDR Ace and DDR A20 are different, since as mentioned in the other thread, there are events in DDR Ace that no longer exist in A20.
