[Emu] Redream emulateur Dreamcast HD/4K

discord server --> https://discord.gg/zuEAVTG

:very-good:

Je ne sais pas si il y a une concurrence entre les 2 projets mais tant mieux pour nous !  :)

@ginzu

Wow... Ginzu, at a first glance this emulator is far better than Demul, trying the mac version and it's flawless,

I'm definitely impressed by the audio emulation too...

Nice nice catch bro, thanx a lot!!

PS

If they implement also Naomi emulation that would be totally rad... and for 5 bucks supporting the project it's a no brainer, totally worth it! :very-good::very-good::very-good:

PPS.

Now I'm downloading a shitload of DC iso... LOL

it is 5 dollars only.

And you only paid one time.

I encourage you to pay the devs for the huge work they have done if you really like this emulator. :non:;)

Hey Ginzu,

since the quality of the covers that the emu automatically downloads are kinda cheap here's a link to the first pack of covers i restored, ready to go,

the zip is comprehensive of all the most iconic titles, hope it's useful!!

As soon as I update my database i will upload another pack, the emu is evolving at the speed of light, neat neat work from the devs, hats off!!

PS.

...and thanx to you too for letting me know about the existence of redream... it's getting more and more difficult for me to stay always updated,

thank god there's emuline and people like you!  :fiesta:

PPS.

We should seriously make a petition to the dev team asking to implement naomi and atomiswave... Redream can really do magic also with low spec computers and looking how much resources needs demul to run decently there's really no comparison between those two...

Why?  So many people (with me off course) use sooooo many games without having originals(not buyed then), why using emulator without paying are different?

I can find here some cemu "Patreon" version no?

Then i repeat why request free version of redream are bad and not another emu?

Anyway i use all i can find for free :P

That's a fair comment but I personally would like us to show inolen and the redream team support. Without them pushing things forward we would not be able to enjoy the games like we do. This is also true of other patreon software like teknoparrot and cemu. If you want to use cracked versions that's your choice. I personally think it's a shame to publicise it here, let's show them all the support they deserve.

Hi backgamon,

No it is totally different.

You can use the free version of redream if you want .you are not going to pay for it. Now, if you are really interested by it and if you would like to use the HD/4k feature, you can pay it one time and that's all. ( not like a patreon that you can support each month).

Without this work done by people like redream devs : no games at all!

Cheers :very-good:. Or use another emulator ( reicast/ demul)  if you prefer.

Hey @dex77,

I am totally excited by this project too.:). I really hope they will implement naomi and atomiswave in the project.i really like the way, this project is evolving. I have nothing to do with theire project but i really appreciate it.

I am a big fan of dreamcast/ naomi system but i am not really happy with demul ( resolution in d3d11 is bad, theire are stuttering in some game for too long time ago now. Always the same bug when you have a wheel conected.etc...

I have more hope in redream now.  :)

I allready use another version for the dreamcast , Demul currently.

As i say often i like when games are enhanced(filter/internal resolution), but i not really want to pay for that....

My website are updated with my free time...i don't win anything....Before emulator are ALL free, and good too.

Since patreon it seem all devellopers want money for doing anything....Maybe emulator can grow up with that...or not.

Look cemu, if programmers wants, progress can be much faster, but too many money are in game....if cemu became perfect no one want to pay monthly for this.

After money can be motivation to continu....and patreon donators can request some features.

Recently on github of RCPS3 i see a war between coders...1st a free coder added a feature....2nd Nekotekina the main coder with the patreon stolen the code of 1st with jyst change some minor thing....then....

First of all... i'm not associated with the dev team so I'm not writing this to take necessarily their side...

It's called common sense... when someone gives you for free a cutting edge product made by an impressive amount of work and is honestly asking

just for a modest support from those who really understand what it means working hard (and from a programmer perspective it means night and day), that's exactly the situation where everyone should think instead of complaining, in the last decade the whole video games industry got screw by a scam business model imposed by Apple called "free to play" which helped THEM to become the first trillion dollars company in this field, the repercussions are devastating since first project indie developers are struggling to survive by now because as a result the new generations are growing with the idea that gaming is a free thing when actually it's just an illusion, in the last years teams are literally dying after releasing their very first project because people are adopting a parasitic mindset against every kind of logic just to fulfill a greedy desire to collect anything they came across, ask yourself one simple question, "can I live without eating?"... the answer it's ridiculously obvious of course, so there's nothing wrong in asking 5 miserable bucks after providing for free the fruits of your efforts, it's called motivation, the whole debate it's just pointless and shows how sadly the people has stopped using common sense when it's time to pay back some peanuts to those who are clearly investing time and money in something that we all agree to be a neat work driven by passion... to summarize what i've just said, be more informed about how this field works because the future it's not gonna be bright nor better if we stop to support developers, I agree with freedom of speech and thank god on Emuline there's plenty of room for that but your point sounds more like a childish rant, my suggestion is read more, think twice and talk half... peace!

pout info:

v1.3.0 - September 8th, 2018

Added

Window size option.

Support for SSCTL audio channel register (What's Shenmue).

16:9 aspect ratio for using widescreen hacks on non-16:9 monitors.

Changed

Introduced heuristic to detect and fix numerous issues that result in visible seams on the edges of polygons when upscaling games. These seams are commonly seen in user interfaces and most 2d games.

Improved handling of bad vertices that were discarded by the PowerVR (Soul Calibur intro, Mortal Kombat Gold).

Improved accuracy of floating-point operations, fixes numerous bugs in multiple games. Common issues were bad vertices in Soul Calibur models, bad animations in Sword of the Bersek and physics issues in Sonic Adventure - light speed dashing out of the sewer is now a breeze.

Refactored texture cache, improving the performance of many 2d fighters, in particular the King of Fighters series of games which really thrash the cache. On some machines, these games went from single to triple digit frame counts.

Fixed

Hang On now runs.

Powerdrift now runs.

Atelier Marie and Elie now runs.

Intermittent South Park Rally load hangs.

Crash in D2 during initial hunting tutorial.

Shenmue 2 releases with widescreen hacks now run.

Sonic drifting left in Sonic Adventure 1 and 2.

Background flickering in Alice's Mom's Rescue.

Background plane parsing (Sega Worldwide Soccer 2000).

Handling of invalid CDDA sector reads (many CDI images).

Handling of Maple RESET pattern.

Handling of invalid VMU block accesses.

Bumpmap calculations (Death Crimson OX).

Regression with raw framebuffer write support (Neo XYX).

Serial communication interface interrupts (diagnostic discs).

Shadow volumes parsing errors (Daytona USA, Virtua Fighter).

Clamping of intermediate blends when using per-pixel blending (Virtua Tennis).

Sorting of multi-disc games where the product name / version hash is different between discs.

v1.3.1 - 2018-09-29

Changed
  • Combined per-mesh and per-triangle polygon sort options into a new and improved per-strip option. This new option isn't as accurate as our per-pixel option, but it improves on both of the previous options for users without OpenGL 4.5 support.
  • Refactored thread synchronization code between emulation and graphics thread to reduce CPU usage and improve performance on dual core systems.
  • Added support for JIT compiling the AICA's ARM CPU code for a ~10% perf gain.
  • Optimized scheduler code for a ~5% perf gain.
  • Optimized basic block linking code.
Fixed
  • Sort mode of passes not always being correctly honored (Tony Hawk menus).
  • Sorting of punch through polygons (Test Drive Le Mans car decals, SGGG Segagaga menus).
  • Alone in the Dark rebooting when selecting a character with the HLE BIOS.
  • Ignore window resize events on minimize to avoid renderer restarts.
  • License screen not showing when using the HLE BIOS.
