- Use latest spicetools(available in dicscord) => voir thread RH post 1
- Incompatibilities with some sound cards
- No knowm hex edits yet

1. Don't run this in windowed mode, just don't. Windowed mode seems to case issues with the game locking up at random then starting and locking up again a few seconds later. This doesn't happen in fullscreen mode so just... don't run it in windowed mode. Please flip your monitor and run the game in 720x1280
2. Hardware compatibility seems to vary GREATLY. I had no trouble running museca on my home machine with a core i3 3220, 5 gig of ram and windows 10 64 bit on a GT 630 GPU but on my laptop with an i7 6700HQ, 16 gig of ram, windows 10 64 bit and a GTX 950M the game had significantly more issues when it came to getting it running as well as considerably longer startup times. What kind of hardware you have seems to impact the experience you will have quite significantly.
3. Legitimate Museca cabs use an SSD for data storage so it is recommended you run this sata off an SSD for ideal results. A RAID 0 setup also works.
4. Sound card compatibility is very mixed. As of right now the only card that I can confirm works due to user feedback is the Realtek ALC887. If the game works fine on your sound card please let me know and I'll put together a compatibility list.
5. As of right now you NEED to launch the game using the -ea command switch with spicetools. To speed things up create a batch file and type in spice64 -ea and use that to launch the game.
6. From my experience I would recommend running the game off of an Nvidia or AMD GPU if you have one as opposed to Intel HD Graphics. Museca seems to really throw a fit with Intel HD for whatever reason.
7. If you are having issues with stuttering or the sound glitching up when you press a key input, try DELETING the backup data files (so all the files in the nvram directory except coin.xml and eacoin.xml and all the files in the raw directory except J.bin) and then try starting the game again. It should ask you to initialise the backup data. For some bizzare reason on some setups museca will experience stuttering glitches whenever an input is pressed when you try to play the game EXCEPT when you have booted the game and initialised the backup data during the startup process. I don't know why but that step of initialising the backup data seems to allow the game to work correctly so try that if you are having issues.

I was actually wondering about how people play this game without having a custom built controller.   There's this youtube video here showing someone using a IIDX controller but no explanation on how he handles the "spins" in the game:

Anyone with working Museca HDD rip figured out a good way to control this game using controllers/keyboard other than an actual custom built Museca controller?   I have a DJDao EZMax that works great on a variety of stuff but can't figure out how the "spins" in Museca would be controlled.   Can you perhaps set left-spin, right-spin, and tap all to the same key in Spicetools & have the game actually process that?   Or was there an option in the game itself for an "auto-spin" type of option - can't remember,  been a while since I played this game.

He seems to be holding the buttons for the spins. Basically I guess that's what spinning actually does... It keeps the button pressed... But that probably won't work for high level gameplay.

Hmm interesting - but the game actually has charts with distinct left-spin and right-spins so wonder how he would handle that.  I guess for lower level charts, simply configuring spin in one direction would work.   Anyone know if Museca has in-game options for "auto-spin" and/or "auto-pedal" ?

I got the game running but I'm still a little confused on a few things. How does card reading work? I set up a card0.txt file and generated a number but when I try to inset the card when the game is running I get an error. Also, whenever I exit the game all of the scores I had are cleared. Is there a way to fix this?

Hey, make sure your Game card ID (the numbers in the file) are in the right format. Like, this will crash the game if it's not done correctly. On more recent versions of SpiceTools, you can have it generate the ID for you. Make sure you set the keypad to the keypad you plan on using (you need a keypad, and make sure when you press a button, you can see an input in the test field in ST). Finally, press + on the keypad when the game asks you for a card. For scores, you will need a server (for example, Asphyxia), and you need to put in the Asphyxia server number in the config file... like, this is basic dump stuff (All Bemani games work this way) Is this your first one?

First Bemani game, yeah. Didn't know Asphyxia was required. In spicecfg I set the service url to http://localhost:8083 and edited ea3-config.xml to include 8083 but I'm still doing something wrong. The Coloris is saved, but not the scores. Also each time it makes me agree to the (what I'm presuming is a) service agreement and gives me an option to change my name. Is normal?

and also, really make sure the numbers and letters in the card are ok. For example, try this: E0040120DF0D87BC

There is a pix_common.ifs file in \contents\data\graphics\afp\museca1_5\ folder

Copy to \contents\data\graphics\afp\museca\ folder ?

Maybe that works out ?

Question for those who have this working - have you found a good way to set up controls for this game using standard controllers such as keyboard, mouse, gamepads, etc?   Looking for some good setups if anyone has found some good methods.

Yep. Here is my layout. I use an external number pad for the foot pedal and set it on the ground for my foot to hit. You could also use space bar. My left hand rests on the S and D keys but I use the keys above and below for left and right spin. It helps me to use my middle and ring fingers here rather than my index and middle. Then my right hand rests on 4, 5, and 6 on my regular number pad on the right of my keyboard. Also I can press up or down below those for left and right spin.

Check out museca.plus btw if you want more fun out of the game. It's like a fan continuation of the game. They're still adding new songs and grafica.

Here is a picture that might help a little more. It plays like a 5key game that has alternate buttons for each you have to press and memorize. Surprisingly fun.

Thanks for the suggestions.   I played this in the arcade a bit before they shut down the Eamuse service for it & thought it was pretty fun.   Will download & give this a shot.

Press the test menu button (or service can't remember) to create backup Data. Then you'll have to reset the game. This is why I suggest using Google translate lol it tells you what to do in the box. Just in Japanese lmao

Sure

Also check this out. You also need Asphyxia Core with the plugins pack from their github.

is this dump file folder include omni 1.5 or should I unzip omni folder to this dump file folder?

it is said I am not supposed to run it on windowed mode. But if I don’t do in windowed mode, instead The games seems lag. I don’t know tbh.

I'm not sure about the omnimix, it's been a while since I set that up. I know it is not included though. If your game runs better one way, do it that way.
