As far as I am aware no, also 2006’s audio is very choppy at medium res but fine on low on a decent pc, I am keeping my eye out for arcade hardware to upgrade my arcade 1up golden tee, such a shame mame emulated “Golden tee fore:complete” is not working properly.

This has been my finding as well. I have a few PCs and on my two high end gaming PCs I can run Fore! 06 without choppy sound on medium graphics if I use the mame emulator mameuifx. (change sample rate to the lowest and audio latency to the highest) I tried running it on a dell optiplex 780 and no luck, even with groovyarcade. I upgraded the CPU in the optiplex and it can run fine on low but still not medium.

Probably has to do with your audio output device, set at stereo 16 bit 44.1 KHz, internal audio card of PC / laptop

Also check here if you can do anything about WASAPI audio
