Hi there, i also tekken tag 2 on my system with recent build. but there are some problems.

If you want to run the game. using it he "write color buffer" with resolution 1080p  or beyond everything boots a bit slower and a match will load and play out fine .But after the first match emulator will freeze to freeze frame / random static image from the previous fight. This is a couple of times if i close emulator (ALT + CTRL + DEL) it does not get removed from the task manager (it looks like it 's removed in it's still there) get it fixed. Same happened when i tried to run "Dead storm pirates". It's only when the settings are at home and it does not crash. I sincerely hope you can give me an insight regarding this issue.

If possible share your emulator settings.

Here are my PC specs just in case:

i7 8700

RTX 2070

16gb ram @ 2666Mhz

only setting i have on is write color buffer and i got it on 4k running fine i tested most characters and stages  ... and  the freezing error with this game and many more is a nvidia driver issue ... u have to play all games in windowed mode not fullscreen till nvidia fixes that issue ..

the other option is to revert to an old nvidia driver (i think it was from September last year ) and since i got a dual boot system i have it set in the win 1803 version and yea fullscreen runs with no problems at all with the old drivers .

Posté(e)

and i just tested mortal kombat vs dc universe with no strict mode and the game runs fine in 4k ... everything seems to be rendered correctly and i played a few matches and it seems very stable ..

i guess if it works fine for more ppl we can consider is playable.

I think the word is causing issues with the translation. From what I can understand that you are saying that I should be running the game in a fashionable mode if i want to play in higher resolution? Also you can link to the previous version of the driver you are using the new drivers are messing up with RPCS3.

What I mean is that with the latest rpcs3  with the latest build (write colour buffer activated) I cannot play with resolution higher than 1080p with Tekken Tag 2 or Dead storm pirates as it hangs after few minutes. But if i play with original resolution it works.

if u r getting freezing and rpcs3 gets stuck in the task manager even after u force shut it down .... its probably a driver issue and this is the old driver that works try it out and see if things work better..

The first post was already updated with these games last week  ;)

oh hey bro ... nice for mortal komat vs dc i didn't notice that one on perfectly playable with no specific settings as it needed strict rendering ... it was a nice surprise ..game now looks pretty good..

and for Tekken TT2 just making sure that ppl know that the 2 stages that needed strict mode r now working fine ... finally all tekken games r fully playable on pc :very-good:

I downloaded the driver and ran but it gave me an error stating that it is not compatible with this version of Windows which is quite strange since I am using Windows 10 64 bit.

Yep I was also quite happy to get them both working good on PC (even if I own them on x360).

MKvsDCU works very well, I finished both story mode on RPCS3 and unlocked the 2 hidden characters.

TTT2 is one of the best of the serie. I just hope somewone will share a patch or cheat to block the CPU character customisation wich is ruinning every tekken games from the 6th.

hmm weird .... did u uninstall the current one first and than install this older driver ...  and before doing that u can try playing in windowed mode instead of full screen see if u r getting any freezing..

Actually I didn't want to go through the hassle of Uninstalling the current one. Maybe that might be the key to getting it installed. Will try and let you know

oh yes bro ...a lot of the big fighting games r running really well ...soulcalibur v is probably one of the few big fighting titles that still have many problems ... but its sort of playable ..hopefully it gets fixed.

and i think when the emulator reaches a more advanced level .. we might have a nice modding community and be able to do all kinds of cool stuff with the games.

just try windowed mode when playing the games ... as i said i have dual boot and on the 1908 build i got the latest drivers installed for modern gaming .. and on that setup i run rpcs3 in windowed mode and everything seems to be working fine..

i know its not the best look but its a temporary solution and hopefully nvidia fixes that issue soon.

SCV works perfectly, it just need a powerfull CPU. With my i7-3770K I get only approx 45fps ingame. but with something a little more recent you should get perfect gameplay

i have a 4790k and still get really poor performance ...and in order to get any decent fps i need to set spu decoder to the new llvm and spu threads to 2..

and yea i think 45 fps is the max i get in game ... and there is a lot of sound issues too ...

Posté(e) (modifié)

my i7-3770K is clocked at 4.4GHz and I have 16Go  DDR3 2400MHz C10

So in fact our configurations are similar. So if we have the same performance this is "normal" :)

To reach a stable 60fps ingame with SCV we should need something like an i7-7700K or i7-8700K

i have the same amount of ram and speed  ... and i clocked my 4790k up to 4.6 but i really saw no big difference at all ...

the only thing that i havn't tried is downgrading the bios to get tsx instructions enabled ... from what i read it makes a big difference.

and do u get stable 45fps with ur setup ... its not stable here and i got to use llvm and 2 threads to reach that performance other than that i get like 25-30fps

Posté(e) (modifié)

Yes enabeling TSX instructions can be a huge help it seems. I can't with my CPU unfortunately.

And yes to reach 40/50fps ingame I have also to use SPU LLVM recompiler (safe block size) and prefered SPU threads to 2 or 3.

It's not very "stable" but it moves from 35 to 50fps with this setting and the sound is not so bad.

BTW it's not enought to enjoy the game but I didn't find any other problem than the "speed".

You should try TSX and keep us informed!! :very-good:

You are right i played tekken tag 2 in windowed mode and it seemed to run fine. Also later on when I switched to fullscreen surprisingly it didn't crash. Which means for some time you need to play in windowed mode and then can switch to fullscreen later on.

yea i think i might give it a try .. specially if i don't end up building a new pc this year ... with emulation needing much more powerful cpus and a lot of modern games r not really running that well on my setup i feel like its time to upgrade.

and yes with these settings the fps fluctuates between 35-50 ... not really bad i mean its playable ..

how about dead storm pirates and house of the dead 4 .. how do they run for u?

yep it rarely freezes in windowed mode at least in stable running games ... and even when tht happens it doesn't get stuck and u can't close it and have to restart the pc... and yea i did go to fullscreen when it starts but still not stable it can freeze and get stuck sometimes..

only way i found to eliminate this issue is using the old driver.

Posté(e) (modifié)

I always start games in windows mode and go fullscreen after using Alt+Enter and never had any problem. It's probably more safe to run games like that??

Yes like that it's "playable", not perfect but playable.

On my computer DeadStorm Pirates runs mostly at 60fps with some little slowdowns at 55/50fps but it's perfectly playable.

House of the Dead runs only at 15/25 fps ingame... strangely it's "playable" but I never tried to play so much with such framerate.

yes starting windowed than and going to gameplay than full screen usually makes rpcs3 more stable but i still had freezing and stuck in task manager problem... and its really annoying when it happens because u need to restart the pc.

using the older driver seems to be the only way to totally eliminate this issue .. i think the developers replied to that issue and said that they can't do anything ... its a problem from nvidias side and they r the ones that should fix it.

i will give deadstorm a try .. and for hotd4 i guess good thing we got TP for that.

Posté(e)

i just tested deadstorm pirates ... i had to check write color buffers for hit collision to work ..

it seems to affect the fps  a little ... but the game runs fine (45-60 fps) as far as i tested which is the first stage

but i think there is issues with the music it starts for a few seconds than stops... but other than that i think everything is rendered correctly.

the issue with the music was fixed weeks ago. The bug back?

yea i guess so .. i mean its the first time i give this game a try on rpcs3 ... its really obvious in the menus when the music starts and after a couple of seconds it stops.

i'm on the latest build ..

Can you share your Soul Calibur 5 settings? I am getting white textures on clothing and a liitle more of the bloom effect around the characters.

The first post of this thread was done to do that :

Citation

SoulCalibur V (BLES01250) => Write Color Buffer / Resolution Scale 100%  (Powerful CPU needed)

The same happened earlier but is was fixed weeks or a month ago. I have to test it again, the bug is probably back again...

Tried again. In fact the bug with BMG can be fixed using SPU : LLVM Recompiler and SPU Block Size : Mega  :very-good:

I have updated the first post :

yea bro ..  it does sort of work with that setting .. when i first run it ..bgm is working fine but going back to menu after playing the first stage  and it just stopped working again ..so i gotta restart the game to get it to work again.

i guess its a really small problem they r going to fix soon ..  but i could say that  the game is really playable at decent fps  on my setup.

It worked fine with these settings for me but after changing them I had hard time to get it working again...

I had to cleanup my SPU cache and restart RPCS3 to make it work again.

I have tried again to do the same but sometime the above tip don't work...

yea but i guess it really doesn't affect the game that much ..its playable...did it work on older builds without any special settings at all?

I don't know, I had this bug months ago and I didn't have it for some weeks.

But I've just tried to change my setting and now the issue is back most of time lol :goutte-sueur:

Edit : It seems  like to be a cache problem. The cache seems have be build with an other setting and used with the setting given above...

I still try to define a working tip to fix it but no real luck until now.
