Rename it to spicetools_backup.xml and let it make a new one.

Thank you very much friend for trying to help me, but it didn't work, the damn error continues. Anyway, thank you very much. I'll forget for a while.

Has anyone else experienced the same problem using the most recently posted build?

Posté(e)

Hello everyone, my game is working again here, I just restarted the PC and it returned to normal, so I left it open for a certain time, (a short time) and it closed in the presentation. So I would like to know if anyone here is also with this crash in the game or is it just mine here. Thank you all in advance.

Alright, Here is how I got this game to work:

I followed the steps shown in this thread:

-Download and install XAMPP before you start

I am reposting the same steps provided by konradg minus the ip stuff asd well as some adjustments along the way.. Here we are going to make a change:

-local ip address: 127.0.0.1 is what we will be using. This ensures that it will work on any pc offline and you don't have to look for your own ip

- In the file, change the "server:address" and "server:keepalive" values to the local IP address 127.0.0.1 (don't remove the quotes). You can further customize the file if you want - it is pretty self-explanatory.

- Then, go to the website https://www.apachefriends.org/index.html. Download and install XAMPP.

After installation, run XAMPP and make sure both "Apache" and "MySQL" are running.

- Open a browser window and go to "http://127.0.0.1/phpmyadmin" and click the Databases tab. In the Database Name field, type bemani and click Create. (all lower case letters)

- Click on the bemani database on the panel on the right side (again, ignoring all errors).

- Download the file: https://konradgolinski.pl/bemani.sql. Make sure the bemani database is selected. Click on the Import tab, and select the downloaded file. Click "Go".

   - new download link:   https://www.mediafire.com/file/toggsd6qgsouao7/eamuserver.zip/file

- If you see any errors, click Ignore All on the bottom of the page and in the popup window.

- You can now run the file "run.bat" from where you extracted the server.

- In Notepad, open the file prop/ea3-config.xml of your game and change <services __type="str">[there should be something here]</services> to <services __type="str">http://127.0.0.1:1337/</services>

- create a text file and rename it to card0 and place it in the main folder of the game      --(contents/card0.txt)--

 -open spicecfg.exe and go to the cards tab, hit card number generate

- You don't need to change any settings in spiceconfig and you also don't need to enable ea emulation. Bind all necessary keys including the card key

- Start XAMPP first, ensure both Apache and MySQL are running, followed by the server (run.bat) , then start the game (spice.exe)

- this should work with both versions of the game but I only tested the 2011121 version

You might need to change following line which is found in the game's main folder:

<model type="str">ACP</model> to <model __type="str">I36</model> in the <soft> area in eamuse-config xml

You can now run the game.

Supported Games :
- Bishi Bashi

- Metal Gear Arcade

- DanceDanceRevolution

- Beatmania IIDX

- Jubeat

- Museca

- Pop'n Music

- Reflec Beat

- Sound Voltex

I have tested this with Metal Gear on my offline pc and it fully works. You are able to scan your card and customize your character. Don't forget to hit exit in the main menu or your progress won't be saved..

New build.

Feel free to DM me your Card Number and I can send you the converted number to be able to register on the website and track current scores. More statistics are planned on being added down the road once we figure out the final determination on match-making.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1RFY-HAtoymelRGcxH2W1UQ9nMP_A-faK/view

Changes:

  • Free-play is now enabled, you should no longer have to worry about inserting credits.
  • Reverted some previous changes to fix any issues previous users experienced despite being able to play with the previous build.
  • Some/most of the error screens being displayed at start-up should no longer occur.

No promises on it being successfully added, but we are at least starting attempts at getting the matchmaking working (this is not included in this build).

Here you go, for both versions:

https://pixeldrain.com/l/vX535KYz

I noticed, there is C:\Users\"username"\AppData\Roaming\spicetools.xml which contains the SpiceTools settings.

Somehow it got "mangled" so I had to rename / delete it, and configure SpiceTools again, but then the game worked.

Forgive me but without a microphone and without connection this game works?

MGA works fine here.

So, the problem is between your keyboard and monitor.

Is there anyone on this forum that knows/messed around with the way Konami handles matching and such for their arcade games? I've been digging into this non-stop using Ida and other tools and I have some things mapped out but it's just like either SpiceTools or the base-server I'm using in general (along with the additional application handlers I added in) the game just will not see the 2 users.

As it stands currently I have the incoming requests being identified and responses being sent back to them, but something with their values or Spice Tools configuration is just not allowing them to communicate with one another.

<matching method="request">
        <info>
            <version __type="s32" />
        </info>
        <data>
            <matchtyp __type="s32" />
            <matchgrp __type="s32" />
            <matchflg __type="s32" />
            <waituser __type="s32" />
            <waittime __type="s32" />
            <joinip __type="str" />
            <localip __type="str" />
            <localport __type="s32" />
            <dataid __type="str" />
            <gamekind __type="str" />
            <locationid __type="str" />
            <lineid __type="str" />
            <locationcountry __type="str" />
            <locationregion __type="str" />
        </data>
    </matching>
<matching method="wait">
        <info>
            <version __type="s32" />
        </info>
        <data>
            <hostid __type="s64" />
            <locationid __type="str" />
            <lineid __type="str" />
        </data>
    </matching>
<matching method="finish">
        <info>
            <version __type="s32" />
        </info>
        <data>
            <hostid __type="s64" />
            <locationid __type="str" />
            <lineid __type="str" />
        </data>
    </matching>

We don't stand to benefit anything from getting this networking working aside from being able to use the UDP data to better document the matchmaking that is used for the PS3 version (MGO2) so if anyone would like to assist and has experience working with Konami's XRPC/ESS/AVS networking stuff just let me know and I'd be more than happy to collaborate.

Edit: Let me word that better, it sees the two users, hell it even moves user 2 into user 1's lobby, but once the timer hits 0 it doesn't start the match and displays a 'Please wait longer' message (in Japanese) which then leads to eventually both players being kicked into a 1 vs all CPU match which would indicate to me I am passing bad data/not responding properly as the most likely reason...?

No need for XPadder or joytokey, the problem is newer versions of SpiceTools got a bug with certain games.
So one needs to use older versions of SpiceTools, which are not available anymore on Emuline.

Try this version ?

https://pixeldrain.com/u/EUPyAF2F
Works for me in both versions of MGA.

Try keyboard inputs, to move (WASD) afaik D / XInput do not work in game.

Probeer toetsenbordinvoer, om te bewegen (WASD) afaik D / XInput werkt niet in het spel.

Thanks for this MGA dump and I finally got it working!

Download base game I36-2011092900 from https://pixeldrain.com/l/vX535KYz. Do not download the older version I36-2011012100

Open prop/eamuse-config.xml and modify <model __type="str">ACP</model> to <model __type="str">I36</model>

If you didn't modify the setting the game will just quit after the `Application Launching` screen.

Download spice2x spice2x-23-06-08.zip and copy to contents folder.

Note:

- Coin button doesn't seems to work. However the coin input is functioning well in I/O input check Test Mode. Not sure how to get this working to simulate real arcade experience, I like coins!

- Didn't have forward/backward problem like other mentioned. Probably I'm using the latest spice2x?

- EA server and I/C card is working perfectly. Make sure you download `mga` plugin from https://github.com/asphyxia-core/plugins

Does anyone know how to get Lightgun such as Sinden Lightgun to work with this game? Currently it work perfectly with Mouse.

Game works fine with Gun4IR, it worked out of the box. You probably need to apply Reshade for the border to show up.

Follow this quick video on how to properly set up your SpiceTools configuration to be able to function properly: https://youtu.be/LU68H1QjzzM

NOTE: Until further notice, each player who wants to try MGA with matchmaking will need to DM/Tag me here to have me generate you a PCBID, this is a requirement for matching to work properly and I don't have a simpiler way of doing this currently.

NOTE: In order to be a 'HOST' or 'JOIN' for matchmaking, you will need to portforward a specific port that is randomly generated, it will be based on your PCBID. Once you ask for a PCBID I will also give you the port you were assigned, be sure to portfoward in order to host or join in on the matching.

image.png.cb777588eadaca43ab4b90e8451d8c78.png

NOTE: Once you are at the main screen, press the 'Insert Card' key binding that is set (you can find out which this is by going into SpiceCfg.exe and selecting 'Metal Gear' from the drop-down menu (by default this key is: *)

Latest Build: https://drive.google.com/file/d/104SS9kBPJT3YePDiU-Ajk2is7zFOpNL8

Some additional information in regards to the latest build of the version I posted:
1.  Randomized Map Rotation is now working.

2. You can now play the 4-player co-op missions with other players.

3. You can now play PvP (up to 4v4).

4. Free-play has now been forced through the game so you no longer have to spam the 'add-coin' button.

Hi Zoft,

Thanks for this as I now have the game working. Can I just check what the control bindings should be in order to play the game "properly"?

I use Gun4ir so I assume, to get an arcade-like experience, I would have the gun in one hand and use the other as an arcade stick? I'm just trying to imagine what the original controls would have been in the arcade as I have never seen this machine before.

Thanks.

New build using the Spice2x version of SpiceTools with a large majority of options removed and only ones pertaining to Metal Gear Arcade listed.
Increasing heap size allocation for MGA in hopes of preventing some crashes.

Activated events that can occur in-game.

Please follow this guide to get set-up correctly, the updated files are listed in the description of the video as well as where you can go to get a PCB ID.
