Hi, i'm having this exact same problem with the card scan-in. I've had the game running perfectly for months, when today it suddenly doesn't want to scan the card.
I don't get any of the sound or fps issues, running valk mode on a single 120hz monitor etc and I have not changed any of the games files at all recently. I've checked the log files and while it does come up with the line about the card swipe and shows the e-amuse number, the game does nothing. No loading screens or errors, just nothing until it goes into demo mode.
I assumed it might be network related and tried:
updating and rolling back asphyxia
same, but with spicetools
changing settings in asphyxia
generating new card numbers/making different card0.txt files
and got no luck. So at this point i'm at a loss, but i'm still assuming that its either asphyxia or spicetools somehow...
Can give more info if needed about specs and stuff.
