  1. vinson77, One Eternal Ash and FeelTheXtasy, thanks for the help. Turns out it was a firewall issue that prevent the save file to process. I had to remove Norton temporarily and allow firewall access and the setting is starting to work.
  2. [2020/05/20 14:02:47] F:saveTestModeValueXML: testmode : save file failed. That issue is pretty much the problem for me still. I don't know if Norton 360 program was an issue because I actually disabled it to run this game (or at least have this program excluded from Norton)
  3. Okay, so I re-downloaded the files, followed the instruction yet again, spicetool is opening up as working, game is opening up just fine BUT the in-game setting is still not saving as it crash after Now Saving screen. I think it has something to do with this issue: [2020/05/20 12:13:25] F:saveTestModeValueXML: testmode : save file failed. I attached the log. CCleaner didn't really help me that much either even though I actually use it for registry fix. Did I also right-click and troubleshoot compatibility on spice.exe? No, I just troubleshoot compatibility on spiceconfig.exe. log.txt
  4. I got the links that One Eternal Ash provided. MDX-001-2020020300. Apparently I don't know if he started with MDX-001-2019090300 + MDX-001-202020300.
  5. Did that, settings are still not saved. I post the pictures here to get to the point on what I was trying to do. I'm trying to turn Free play off so I can make attempt to get the extra stage part in, but with the free play forced on, I am only limited to 3 songs. The settings didn't change, so I'm trying to figure out why. I don't think spicetool has something to do with this for now, and yes I'm using bemanitools.
  6. Not a laptop issue, otherwise I wouldn't be running this game. Hate to be blunt, but please think about my issues before you conclude with "this is obviously a laptop issue." You basically sound like you have no clue on figuring out my issues when your instruction was already followed in the first place. Might need vinson77 just so I can actually try to figure out why these issues exist. So it turns out the crash occurs after the eamuse logout screen (after I finish 3 songs for the set). The temporarily solution I could do is I can go to the operator service menu to reset by clicking game mode/event mode again so I can keep playing. The crash also occur when I try to change certain settings in service operator menu. After the Now Saving screen, the game crashed and the setting isn't actually saving. I think it has something to do with testmode-v, but if I delete the nvram folder from contents/conf, then I will get this issue from the log: [2020/05/19 09:52:39] F:saveTestModeValueXML: testmode : save file failed. Also I can't tweak the testmode-v.xml file itself otherwise it will give me a test mode -> NG when I try to boot up. Do you think there's a solution where I can be able to save the settings without having the crash to occur in-game? Because the in-game settings only work once the Now Saving screen return back to the service operator menu. I'm not worrying about personal scores not saving (I can look at the leaderboard and know my scores are there in machine/area/world by the way). log.txt
  7. Yes, I installed everything include K-Lite Code Pack. The backgrounds are not the issue here. Laptop Specs are in the attachment.
  8. Since I'm not clear on what issues I am saying earlier and I think you missed my point on what I'm trying to ask you, let me rephrase this again. The actual issues are (and I put my processes here how I did it): 1. I basically followed your instructions (I downloaded necessary files from the links you put, I installed/extract the files to correct locations based on your instruction, butterfly is working from step 3 of your instruction, I set up controls and everything) 2. gamestart-spice.bat won't open up the game. I also don't understand why this is mentioned twice. You're basically calling the program to execute twice which it's not needed: spice -io -ddr spice -io -ddr -arkmdxp3.dll 3. This will lead to this question based on 1 and 2. Why is spicetool not opening up the game? I attached the log so you can check. (This is bit irrelevant to step 1-3, but another issues occur when I try to do the alternative) 4. So instead of using spicetool, I decided to use bemanitool to try to open up the game. 5. I download and extract the necessary files to content folder. 6. I set up the controls via config.exe, and open up gamestart-16.exe. 7. Game boots up successfully (not having router popup error issue because I already open up butterfly) 8. Game is playable, but it crash when I try to open up service menu and try to change and save certain information (like turning off free play). 9. Game also crash after eamuse logout screen. The data will not save after. 10. This lead to this question: Is there a way to resolve the crashing issue? Here I'm just trying to clear up the issues so the results become more consistent. log.txt
  9. Is there a way to turn off Free Play because whenever I tried to change it in-game, it basically crashed and the settings wasn't saved. Pretty much I'm forced to just play 3 songs (no access to extra stages) Same with the data not actually saving after I play 3 songs (it crashed after the eamuse logout screen). The game is playable, just want it to keep it consistent.
