[Arcade PC] Dance Dance Revolution A20 (Konami)

Just out of curiosity, has anyone figured out what happened to some of the missing charts in the current build? I'm thinking Tiger Rampage CSP, but I know that's not all that's missing. To be clear, everyone here is doing fantastic work and I'm not at all mad, just wondering what happened. -

Alright, so it turns out my unzipper utility hasn't actually unpacked all of the files, and that was my problem (I tried to mix some of the correct A20 files with my old vanilla A assets). Ash, your upload was a lifesaver. Generally if you have a working dump of A, that upload was pretty much plug-and-play. Looking forward to the bug fixes around lamps and missing videos (or even Omnimix?!), but I have no complaints. Thanks for all the help all, and great work. -

Hm, I'm still having difficulty getting things up and running even with the fantastic post by One Eternal Ash. At this point it appears to be booting successfully but the screen just stays black and nothing ever actually appears. I assume that download should just work out of the box, with no additional files required? I'm going to try to re download it and see if I'm just having a corruption issue. -

So I downloaded and ran through the config.bat configuration; I set all of this stuff in the spice-cfg of course. I still end up at the same end state though; I can't get to the card screen, despite downloading and renaming the blue/gold dll files. I tried both of them but neither works. -

Yes, I've checked this. I saw some scripts to run on the sqlite database up top and have not run all of that, so that's something to do, but is it really related to the card screen issues? -

Thanks for the fast response. That line must have been blown away by the patch. I fixed that, and now I can get everything running with the butterfly server from before. However, the game still crashes at the card screen. I'm using the gamemdx.dll files found here: https://www.mediafire.com/file/r8ky7ujqxvcuxcr/minifixGAMEMDX.zip/file Is that not correct? Or am I doing something wrong with them? -

Glad to see the community active here. I was able to get DDR A working after significant wrestling, but since the newest update everything is broken. I think my problem might be similar to others here but I'm wondering if anyone might know what's going on based on my log file (this file is fresh after just one failed run) log.txt. Currently what happens when I try to run the application is that spice just crashes before even getting to the launch screen. If I try to start locally (using the start_game_ealocal file, which is slightly different), I can get to the game proper, past the intro screen, but I crash after hitting the start button and putting in a credit. I'm guessing something is messed up with e-amuse, but there might be a second problem too given my inability to get to the card registration screen even in maintenance mode? Any ideas? Steps I've taken: -Had working DDR A (with butterfly) -Downloaded the 20200203_patch and extracted into the contents folder -Downloaded minifix GAMEMDX and placed and renamed the correct file for Blue A20 All of that has gotten me to this point, and I'm not sure how to get it all working again. Screenshots of where I'm at follow: contents: gamestart: local gamestart: ea3-config -

Omnimix looks great. Any chance of a public release? -

Any word on getting a release for Blue A20? -

I've noticed similar. I also see that the "HEAT POWER" is always at least level 3, which makes me wonder if there's some modification going on in the dump itself. -

I would love to get the blue A20 build at some point as well, though I guess the best would be if I could create my own song data in the build. That would be incredible. As an aside, how exactly are these dumps curated? I feel like cracking one of these cabs to get this data wouldn't be trivial. -

Add me to the list that would also greatly appreciate a tutorial here. I'm also interested in the Blue A20 build. I'm not sure if people are just replacing certain assets with the A20 assets and simply using their own song data to make an "A20" folder or what. -

I figured it out. It turns out, using the script included in the "File Fix" (titled "gamestart-spice") instead of using regular spicetools was somehow breaking the localhost connectivity of the entire setup. Using just vanilla spicetools got the job done. I would love to see this as well. I very much enjoy the A20 build here but would love to see the Special Edition. A tutorial on how to add my own song data would also be amazing, since it seems like the ability to do so exists. -

No dice unfortunately. I've tried restarting butterfly, but I think what's going on is the server is up but the emulator isn't trying to connect to it for some reason. Despite changing all of the ea3-config parameters to have the server use http://localhost I'm not seeing any activity on the butterfly server that indicates it's being hit. Is there some config entry I'm missing? What's suspicious is that in the emulator it shows "ONLINE" but then every time I hit "+" it gives me the "network is busy" error. Pretty sure if I can get this step to work then that will be everything. -

Been having some difficulty getting everything running with Butterfly. Despite getting the server working and everything looking correct, when I hold "+" I get the "network is busy" error and cannot progress. Looking at the spice logs, I see the attached error. Is something going on with "cardmng"?
