Which version of DDR are you trying to run? If you're trying to run anything newer than MDX-2020072700 , I don't believe there is any version of Asphyxia Core or Butterfly that will support it. For just unlocking songs - you can patch the gamemdx.dll file using these sites (depending on version you're running): https://new-bemani-patcher.vercel.app/game/?name=ddra20plus https://mon.im/bemanipatcher/ddra20+.html -

The Discord for this game is definitely a great resource. Got the latest version (GV08.18) working along with the latest OmniMix & the Save Mod pretty quickly/painlessly. For anyone new or having issues just go there & go thru invite process (pretty quick). Then just search for these 3 files: 1) Taiko no Tatsujin GV08.18 2) OmniMix v7.7 (look at the readme.txt for instructions - it's pretty simple) 3) nijiiro-record-save-0.7 You'll need to use the BemaniPatcher to enable the "Remove Song ID Limit" option: https://mon.im/bemanipatcher/taikonotatsujin.html Once you get everything up and running, you can use this site to modify your profile & do stuff like set your Favorites (songs), enable mods like timer freeze, etc. https://ns-tool.netlify.app/profile Currently, setting costumes for your Don-Chan has to be done manually by editing the "profile*.json" file in the UserData directory - you can use the "Costume ID Reference Images" which is included in the nijiiro-record-save-0.7 to view the costumes & find the corresponding codes to enter in the file. -

Is there a method to save progress/scores for this one available yet ? Not sure if I missed previously released info on this - any links if this method exists? -

The "ea" option in spice just emulates the Eamusement Maintenance Mode - allows game to run by "tricking" it into thinking it's connected to eAmuse network that is undergoing server maintenance. So you won't be able to save score/progress with a "card". You want to make sure this option is disabled (the "-ea" flag) in spicecfg if you want to use a virtual eAmuse card to save scores/progress using stuff like Asphyxia, Asphyxia-Core, or Butterfly . -

I got CastHour ( 2021101301 ) running & was able to create a card & scores/progress seem to be saving fine. I'm using the plugin that's been linked on a couple posts here by a few ppl as " iidxcasthour.zip " However I noticed that when I look at the Plugins section for IIDX on the Asphyxia-Core web page that opens up after running it, it shows the plugin as an old version ( v1.4.1 ) that lists only Heroic Verse as supported (see below). Is this expected? (on Bistrover, I'm using the v2.0.0 version of the plugin) Is an older version of the plugin being used because the newer ones don't work here? -

For the drums - if you just want some decent E-drums to play GitaDora - you don't need the more expensive brands such as Yamaha & Roland. Any midi based drums should work I believe. I've seen E-drums by "off-brands" such as Simmons & Alesis (some with mesh-type drums that feel nicer than rubber) on sale *brand new* at Guitar Center for as low as $200 or sometimes even a little less. These are still decent & would be perfectly fine for GitaDora. They sell used sets there as well (varies by store or check online). -

For the CastHour update ( 2021101300 ) , which version of Bistrover should this update be applied to? Is it for the 2021091500 version of Bistrover? -

What is the difference between the 2 versions? ( KFC-2022021400 & KFC-2022021400v2) ? I'm assuming just use the newer one (v2) - did it "fix" anything in the older version? -

The MDX-2021080400 file on Nyaa is the *complete* game (no updates prior to this date are needed). However, I don't believe there is currently any method available to save scores/profile/etc. on that version (I could not get Butterfly or Asphyxia Core to work on that version). It's been stated that Butterfly will not work on releases after 2020 so that's to be expected. MDX-001-2020020300 is also a *complete* game (you'll notice the *complete* releases are the ones with large file sizes). The files for 2020031700 & 20200728 (much smaller file sizes) are just *updates* to be applied to a previous full release. "AIO" just stands for "All in One". Could refer to a complete release with updates already applied, or a bunch of updates grouped into one set of files. -

The MDX-2020072800 version of A20 Plus appears to work with Butterfly (saves scores, etc.) from what I can tell so far. The folks behind Butterfly mentioned that it should work for releases up til 2020. First get the MDX-2020020300 data. Then apply the 2020031700 files. Then apply the 2020072800 files to update to A20 Plus. All 3 of these are available via torrent/magnet at Nyaa. -

Thanks - was searching for it in the forum but had a hard time because of that one post that's repeated several times for some reason. I downloaded the version of butterfly and set it up but can't get DDR A20 Plus to work with it. Do you know if this version of butterfly supports DDR A20 Plus? -

I have DDR A20 Plus (MDX-2021080400) working but have a couple of questions 1) When I start the game, it opens a separate small window w/ a static image titled "ActiveMovie Window". For some songs, it evens opens yet another small window w/ a title-specific image also titled "ActiveMovie Window". Is this normal or is there a way to "fix" this behavior? 2) Could someone provide the link to the latest release of Butterfly? I see that long post repeated several times on this topic but can't find the link here. Thanks in advance. -

I'm not sure if the card0.txt is important but I do create a separate instance of that for each game I play so it's possible that could be the issue. I do back up that file as well along with the "savedata" directory. I just use Dropbox (free) for backups so that I can access them from anywhere. Have you checked to see that there is a "savedata" folder created in your game directory? Try running the game without using your *.bat file to see if that's the issue - start up asphyxia-core manually from the same directory as your game and then run spice64. If you show your *.bat file we can check to see if there's an issue with it (e.g. it's running an instance of asphyxia-core from another directory...) -

The save files are located in the same directory you run asphyxia-core from (I'm guessing you're running it from a different folder location than the game itself). For asphyxia-core, there should be a folder it creates named "savedata" which has 2 "*.db" files in it. To make things easy/clean, I keep a separate instance of asphyxia/asphyxia-core in the folder of every bemani game I have and always run it from the directory of the game I'm going to start up. Doing it this way ensures that your save data is always kept in the same directory as the game itself so if you move the game directory, the save files go along with it. The files are tiny and don't take up much space, and makes it easy to keep your save data organized. -

Had just a quick question regarding one of the options on the BemaniPatcher site for IIDX - What does the option "Cursor Lock" actually do in the game? : -
There's a *lot* of PS4 images (including many of the newest releases) available via torrent/magnet on RARBG, which is a public site. Use a VPN if you plan to grab these from public trackers just in case ...

Nice setup - I just have my PC hooked up to my 55" LG OLED via HDMI and don't have anything that "formal" set up - just hook up whatever controller (EZMAX, FauceTwo, etc.) for whatever game I'm playing lol. I figure I could get Nostalgia aligned pretty well with my full-sized MIDI keyboard by manually adjusting the Windows desktop resolution so that the screen size of Nostalgia when I run it will "match up" the keys. Honestly just have too many other rhythm games I have more interest in (SDVX, IIDX, Diva, Pop'n, etc.) to have given Nostalgia much time at all. I really enjoyed the old KeyboardMania games by Bemania and would prefer followups to that series as those games used a real keyboard. I have the two releases on my PS2 along with the keyboard that was released with it. I know there's a PC release of KeyboardMania out there - anyone know of any links/sources to get that version? -

I think some people use a MIDI-capable (piano) keyboard w/ a MIDI-USB adapter to connect to PC. From there, use an app to map the MIDI inputs to regular PC keyboard inputs. I haven't tried this myself. I'm wondering how well the game would play without the physical piano keys actually "lining up" to the onscreen keys in the game. On the arcade machine, the pseudo-keyboard controller (not real piano keys) is aligned to match the keys on the game monitor. -
