  1. Yeah the original is comprised of so many damn partitions. I think they basically are just forming virtual overlays and the game is really acting the same way in all cases as those other partitions are probably all just mapped into the one big virtual drive. It's likely what makes it resilient to being switched off without corrupting the windows partition.
  2. The difficulty setting will be stored in the C:\Perforce files. As an interim resort if we can work out the format of that data a strategic hex edit can probably change the difficulty. Not as ideal as modifying it via the test menu but might be useful for some lower frustration gaming sessions lol Oh yeah please do! Back to that point about people begging, I think there is a perception in the community that people are hoarding "their stuff", but in reality it does take a lot of work to convert something from personal use (aka "works well enough for me") to "public consumption" and people seem to take it to mean that everyone is just keeping their stash to themselves. On that note to people on emuline: this isn't arcade-projects where the mods hoard things so that they can privately charge you hundreds of dollars for their dumps, there are many other explanable reasons why things don't make it to the public 😄

    lindbergh roms

Not sure if interested, but I created a Virtua Fighter 5 image that can be installed onto a HDD and booted sans CF drive on real lindbergh yellow hardware (requires the unlocking procedure: https://github.com/ArcadeHustle/LindyLiberation search for "BIOS password" and follow the step by step procedure). For anyone who has eg a Wangan Midnight unit they wanted to put to use, it can turn it into a Virtua Fighter one https://mega.nz/folder/yHpTUZZA#h5b3STQE_oO9SVujJwD_-Q
  4. I've had a couple of PMs from people who got ES3X units from Japan that have issues launching the game, so will at least to help those people out am uploading the files I created which use Attract Mode with a simple menu and JVS I compiled into a launcher, which form the bases of the various multi's on the net, in order to help those people out. I'll update this with a mega link shortly. To keep the games as authentic as possible, I _only_ patched out the dongle protection, everything is using original hardware. For a vanilla PC version, I could update them via DLL injection to accept keyboard inputs for controls etc, but not highly motivated with it all lately as time is an issue. For some I guess that might be driving what appears to be blatant begging: the fact they have outlayed a lot of money for something that does nothing for them lol For my own personal multi I use File-Based Write Filter (FBWF) patched into Win 7 professional as that's the closest one can get to the Arcade OS (I tried modifying the original Windows 7 Embedded from a dump but it's so locked down with so many Group Policies, that it's an exercise in futility to modify). For people with dead ES3X images, the good news is that you can literally just install windows and NVidia drivers on the ES3X (No magic BIOS passwords to worry about, and unlike the TTX3 it's not fussy about what GPU you run, and I threw a 1660 super in one of mine). Then just throw on the T7 image and off you go, no longer you will have a dead weight from Japan. Just need to set the windows shell to the C:/am/tekken.exe which coded that launches attract mode and uses some crude JVS comms code. Eventually I want to make this work via DLL injection, so that you can return back to the attract mode menu. It will be worth expanding to an ES3 multi of sorts, as I am not sure how many people will really care about anything beyond the latest version. This archive doesn't include 4.20 as it's not public yet, but it's enough to get people going if they really need to in the interim. Anyone who has dumps not in the multi can feel free to pass them on and I can patch out the dongle protections (I usually use Ghidra for reverse engineering). It would be good if we can create some sort of wiki. I want to look into why someone mentioned they can't change difficulty levels for some reason.
  5. Yeah I was planning to remove the vanilla Tekken 6 protection also, as that will be particularly useful given that the bulk of Sys 357 units in the wild have updated firmware for T6: BR which the vanilla T6 is incompatible with. This emulation path will be one of the only ways to actually preserve that game.
  6. I personally patched out the hdd serial protection out of Tekken 6: BR, and can do for other Namco System games if it helps get them going (have just been short of time lately). I've been meaning to look into removing the dongle protections as well, but with RPCS3 it's only a simple matter of mounting a USB drive with the required VID:PID + Serial Number required https://mega.nz/folder/2XB0WTxb#pvxSdl8OXE670TN5Y7Z0QA These games generally use a BOOT + GAME combination, and by modifying the BOOT self you can get into the XMB and it is pretty cool to interact with.
  7. Very cool to see this. Did you implement the missing cellFsArcadeHddSerialNumber call to bypass the serial number checks? I guess that can basically just return the contents of the game's local PS3GAME.DAT (sys 357 games) or the other named DAT which name currently escapes me (sys 369 games) which would allow the checks to pass always?

    Taiko no Tatsujin System 357

USIO support was merged into the master branch of RPCS3 a fair while back, so any RPCS3 build should have it. For System 357/369 games you need to patch out: - the HDD serial number checks (look for cellFsArcadeHddSerialNumber reference), or someone might try implementing the stub for that function to return the contents of the PS3GAME.DAT file (or equivalent one that 369 games have). - fool the dongle checks (or emulate the dongle using a Pi Zero or similar in USB Gadget mode). Pretty easy to do with RPCS3 if you know the PID/VID and serial number of a dongle used with the game. https://github.com/RPCS3/rpcs3/commit/2b924175aa694ec877e7e5843a0fc5eb7cd7bcf8
  9. Hi all, if anyone happens to find a Round 2 dump, please let me know as I have built a Tekken 7 multi for use on original ES3X units. I would like to expand it to include Round 2 prior to releasing it. I can patch out the dongle protections myself so I just need a normal dump of it.
