  1. The PS3 offloads tasks to the 8 SPUs. There is no equivalent to this on PC hardware. We ideally need 8 core / 8 thread CPUs to handle this during emulation, but it is not perfect and weaker chips will not do a great job. PS2 based machine emulation is completely different. But, games that would tank performance in software mod ten years ago will fly today. For instance, Shadow of the Colossus in software mode with a 60 patch is the most challenging thing to run on PCSX2. With a budget Ryzen 5600 it never drops below 80fps in software. Play! In my experience is the same. Absolutely every bootable game runs at fullspeed. DDR5 is not required, at all. I'm using DDR4 @ 3200mhz. More than enough.
  2. Most performance comments are from people running on far, far weaker hardware in emulation these days than 10-15 years ago, where most of us were on PCs only. It's becoming more dominated by mobile based CPUs. There is not a single game here (of those that boot) where I get any slowdown whatsoever on my PC, and I have a rather budget Ryzen 5600 / RTX 3060 setup. Play! needs improvements in a lot of areas, sure, but optimization for speed is only something that is needed for very weak systems.
  3. Is it possible to have an update to jconfig were internal resolution in DOA5 works ? It's currently only possible to use default 720p scaled to your chosen resolution.
  4. Awesome that the games now boot on the mainline builds.
  5. You can, but RivaTuner is more consistent. Still has poor frame pacing, though. I just hope that they change the backend to DX9/11 in the future. DX9 is old, but reliable and can be wrapped to Vulkan where needed.
  6. It absolutely does, but the current sun brightness fix breaks the videos. Disable that fix and they work fine. Christ knows why that conflicts with them, but it does.
  7. There is no 4:3 option for the Lindbergh version. All previous assets were rescaled/adjusted for a 16:10 aspect ratio on a direct 640x480 canvas, with excess bars intended to be cut off by the LCD display with overscan. Lindberg had games in many aspect ratios and resolutions, but OR2SPDX is straight up 640x480 / 16:10. You can get the correct aspect on TP as long as you have a 16:10 monitor, and run in default resolution. The PS3/360 port was changed for 16:9, which resulted in squished 2D assets, making them narrow and incorrect.
  8. BudgieLoader really hurts these Linux based games, sadly. It's using an older OpenGL, and has poor frame pacing on every game that runs on it. Direct X would be far more preferable, as it allows users to tweak with outside plugins like DXVK to minimize any frame and sync issues.
  9. Is it possible to change the interlacing method like with PCSX2?
  10. Indeed. Also no go on real hardware with CFW. I'm guessing the IO workaround is all that is need for the average user to start running Tekken Tag 2. Looking forward to trying again whenever that releases in the future Tekken 6 Tekken 6 Bloodline Rebellion Tekken Tag 2
  11. I might try on real hardware. I have custom firmware on my PS3.
  12. I have no idea what usio is. I'll look it up
  13. System error when trying on latest RPCS3 build. I'm guessing I would need to decrypt ?
  14. Glad to see the forum back, and checking in on progress here. Is it possible for one to already try out 357 if we have our own dumps ? Only decryption is an issue for me, and I'm not sure if asking about that is okay here.
  15. Awesome. Looking forward to being able to play the arcade version of Tekken Tag 2
