  1. I noticed that a lot of people aren't getting this working. For steering to work, you need to have jackchen's hex patch for steering applied. I'll try to start including a diff file in the future.
  2. There's no Trojan. Sometimes hacks show up as viruses because they do a lot of the same things a virus would do.
  3. Eventually I want to get away from hard-coded inputs and allow users to use any controller they like with the buttons mapped how they prefer. When I do that I'll be sure to add deadzone and sensitivity settings. In the meantime, someone might want to experiment with the "Wheel" section in GameData/config.ini, particularly deadzone and period1...period3. In theory the exe patch ignores all calibration data, but I'm not positive about that.
  4. Ok found some launching bugs and re-ordered the buttons to match a real Daytona shifter. I might stop posting updates to the application here as it's a pain to keep up with it on multiple sites, so you can always follow along in the driving and racing section of byoac.com.... just be nice and follow the rules as it is my home turf and I'm quite fond of the guys over there. DaytonaLaunch2.1.rar
  5. Well luckily we hacked that game apart ages ago, so we now instantly have a lot more info.
  6. Gentlemen I'm not sure how you could be getting a type mismatch error.... there isn't much in the way of settings as you've noticed. I know it's a pain, but you might want to try setting your computers to English if they aren't already. Sometimes foreign keyboards do odd stuff to programs and that's all I can think of. Anyway, here is version 2, it adds Gearshift support! Thanks to SailorSat for her realization that the game is actually running an emulated version of the original model 2 game underneath, which allowed us to find a gearshift solution. DaytonaLaunch2.0.rar
  7. Heh, I made a one as well. It maps the thumbsticks to left and right arrow keys (for the menus), moves the cursor out of the way and will let you exit via the "esc" key. Also it kills ALL copies of Daytona.exe and inpwrapper.exe upon exit in case you've had a crash or something. Just put the contents in your "Daytona" folder and launch via the "DaytonaLaunch.exe" DaytonaLaunch1.0.rar
  8. We haven't figured out the menus completely yet, which use another input function. For now the left and right arrow keys on your keyboard will work. I'm hunting down inputs as we speak, so hopefully I can find what we need to fix it.
  9. Thanks, but remember I just hooked it up. A lot of smart people found most of the data I needed.
  10. Not just yet. I hacked up one of my existing programs and it is pretty crude, so it would probably crash on anyone else's computer. It won't be long before I can release something.
  11. Even with my crude controls the game is pretty fun. Sega seems to have lowered the difficulty just a little and smoothed things over compared to the original game. I'm hoping releasing this will convince Sega to do a proper console port and not convince them to send me a C&D letter.
  12. I took everyone's findings and did a crude proof of concept hack. Something playable should be ready within the week.... maybe sooner if I can pass it off to someone who is better at this sort of thing.
