  1. So far, only Japanese was available for language selection, which is why you don’t see it in the Game Options in DDR 2014. But I know there’s gotta be an English language in the game somewhere…
  2. There's no such language setting in the game options in DDR 2014. Only DDR A onwards has that setting.
  3. I changed this part in the "ea3-config.xml" file (changed EUC-JP to EUC-US): But it unfortuantely didn't make any difference at all: There's still Japanese text in later menus and on the "SELECT STYLE" screen (pictured above).
  4. When I changed the “FREE PLAY” setting in Coin Options to on, the “ONLINE” text is in the usual position and not obstructing the “FREE PLAY” text as seen here: The only part where the “ONLINE” test goes out of whack is if you have “FREE PLAY” turned off, which is what happened in your case. When DDR 2014 came out to the US, it was in a location test state, and if the machines weren’t on “FREE PLAY”, the “ONLINE” text goes out of whack. This is seen through the attract mode of DDR 2014 in this video (it has the 2015 update, but we also have the same version. The “ONLINE” text should be on the bottom right of the CRT as seen on the attract mode): Other than that, it has no major effects on gameplay.
  5. Basically, you go into your DDR 2014 game directory, then head inside the "prop" folder: Then open up "ea3-config.xml" with Notepad++ or similar: Then change what ever the letter is in "dest_type" to the letter "U" (right before the "</dest>" part, the "U" highlighted in red): Then I got to some menus which are english (partially). I didn't know there was an english version of this until now.
  6. Has anyone managed to get all the menus running in English? I set the region to U:A:A in my ea3-config.xml file, and some menus show the text in English, while some other menus are still in Japanese. Running this game with the latest SpiceTools. TITLE SCREEN (ENGLISH): CAUTION SCREEN (ENGLISH): SELECT STYLE SCREEN (SOME ENGLISH TEXT, OTHERS IN JAPANESE): SELECT MUSIC SCREEN ONWARDS (MAINLY IN JAPANESE):
  7. The reason why you can't get past the first stage is because the "Premium Free" hexedit has been done by someone else who has provided the update files. It's easy to fix the issue: 1. Go to your game directory and there should be a "HEXEDIT" folder. If not, find it inside the zip file for the DDR A3 update. 2. Double click on the "ddra3.html" link. This will take you to the DDR A3 DLL Modifier page. I've provided the zip file to the tool just in case. HEXEDIT.zip 3. Add the "gamemdx.dll" file to the DLL modifier and disable the "Premium Free" option. You can also modify other settings to tweak the game to your preferences. 4. Download the patched DLL file by scrolling down to the bottom and click "Save Patched File". Once downloaded, copy and overwrite the "gamemdx.dll" file in your DDR A3 directory. 5. Simply start the game with SpiceTools. That's all there's to it! Hopefully this should resolve your issue.
  8. Personally, I don't think I've encountered that issue with the "MAINTENANCE" text with a yellow error box on startup with my SpiceTools configuration. But what I would suggest is trying adding in '-eamaint' and see what happens from there.
  9. If you try to insert a card with “e-amusement Emulation” on and “e-amusement Maintenance” off through SpiceTools, you will get an error on the login screen saying “The network is busy”. Until Asphyxia or Butterfly support the DDR A3 release, you might want to leave it on maintenance mode for the time being.
  10. The game can be run in both maintenance mode and through e-amusement server emulation. Simply head into your SpiceTools configuration and enable “e-amusement Emulation” under the Options tab. Or launch spice.exe with the “-ea” flag from the terminal for e-amusement emulation. The game will then run in maintenance mode and you should be able to start DDR A3 from there. If you want to emulate the e-amusement servers being online, toggle the "e-amusement Maintenance" option to off.
  11. If you are having problems trying to start the game, try editing the region settings in your ea3-config.xml file. When I downloaded the update, the region was set to U:A:A (USA) and it didn't work. I then changed to J:A:A and A:B:A respectively, and the game worked fine after that (other than the fact that the ddr plugin on asphyxia-core doesn't support DDR A3, as I got a "The network is busy" error on the login screen). Perhaps try the following regions: J:A:A (Japan) - A:B:A (Asia, Australia and New Zealand) - U:K:A (USA) - E:K:A (Europe/Others) This is my image of the game's title screen with the A:B:A region setting (you should see it on the top-left corner of the screenshot):
