[TUTO] Groove Coaster 2 Heavenly Festival with GameLoader All RH

I could not get Groove Coaster 2 Heavenly Festival to run with Teknoparrot 1.0.0.124, so i tried it with GameLoader All RH 333.

So by request, here are the instructions.

 

 

But first thanks @7zxkv for the original post and instructions.

 

Ignore the manual on the game download page for now.

Extract the downloads to the folder(s) of your choosing.

Groove coaster 2 heavenly festival game exe.7z contains a patched game.exe,

and TypeXZEROTemp.dat this file needs to be in the root of C:

 

Go to the Gameloader All RH front page and download the latest version, (333 at the time of writing)

Extract the files to the extracted Groove Coaster 2 Heavenly Festival game folder.

Run Game Loader Installer.exe in the game folder next to the game.exe.

 

You have not installed Gameloader All RH before ?

You will get a "warning" about a virus, that is fake.

A text file will pop up, Enter agree, and save.

 

Text file does not show up ?

Or you already installed GameLoader All RH before.

Or you can find, Settings.ini at this location:

C:\Users\"Your User Name"\AppData\Roaming\Game Loader All RH

The "Show=0" makes the green version number of GameLoader All RH at the bottom of the screen disappear after 5 seconds, as it detects the game has started. 

 

Run Game Loader Installer.exe again (if needed), now it will install the latest version of Gameloader All RH.

Now run Game Loader Config.exe

 

These are the settings I used, my monitor resolution is 1360 x 768 @ 60 Hz, but I still used 720 x 1280 at the moment, you could try your monitor resolution accordingly.

There is mention in the original manual posted by 7zxkv on the game download page, of a (internal resolution) of 720 x 1280.

Quote:

Ensure that you are configured for 720P Portrait resolution (720x1280) or else you'll get a DirectX error if it is a incompatible resolution.

You can try windowed mode too via "data \ system.cfg"

 

As you can see they set the monitor resolution to tate (vertical) mode with 720 (vertical) x 1280 (horizontal)

Normally one would set the resolution 1280 x 720 for Yoko (horizontal) mode, but this game needs tate, vertical mode !!

That is why they switch the resolution values !

I used 720 x 1280 as you can see on the GameLoader All RH window size tab.

768 x 1360 also worked for me at the native resolution of the monitor.

 

But i got 1 small problem, at either resolution, see this post.

So if anyone got a solution for that, PM me and / or post it in the Gameloader All RH thread.

 

I used IDMac version 1.5, replace the iDmacDrv32.dll, but save the original if needed for later.

Now you need the patched game.exe and TypeXZEROTemp.dat

Contained in Groove coaster 2 heavenly festival game exe.7z

Replace the original game.exe with the patched one. (save the original file)

Copy TypeXZEROTemp.dat to the root of your C: drive, no need to replace if one is already there.

I assigned WASD to the left stick, Space is button press, assigned to the left front button / shoulder on the joystick.

I assigned the keyboard arrows to the right stick, right Ctrl key is button press, assigned to the right front button / shoulder on the joystick.

I assigned F3 (coin-up) to the back button on the joystick.

F1 is service mode, the second option is input test.

 

Start antimicro with the correct profile and minimize it, it is in the corner near your window$ clock.

Start Game Loader All RH.exe the game should run now.

Local LAN versus play ? 

(not tested yet)

 

The player can start the play in multiplayer mode.

Once a player starts recruiting, a 90-second countdown will start.

Other players (up to 3 more, which can make a 4-player match) can join the match before the countdown ends.

The recruiting player can also end the recruitment by pressing the BOOSTER button.

Stage selecting is almost the same, only with a little difference.

Any player can decide the song that will be played in the match, and each player selects his/her own modes, items, or skins.

However, EXTRA mode selecting goes in a very different way.

If the songs that contains EXTRA mode were selected by the player that has already unlocked the mode, then all the player can select EXTRA mode.

If not, then only the player who has already unlocked the mode can select it.

It takes you a few moments to read, but it took me a while to figure it out.

am I supposed to run the game through Teknoparrot GUI? because when I do it tells me to remove a few files from the directory.

No use Game Loader All RH.exe to start the game, takes a while

Black screen ?

End srtgl.exe in taskmanager

srtgl.exe keeps hanging for all my GL loaded games since version 368 which sucks

when I launch through game loader RH exe now, it hangs on a black screen then eventually closes

I thought I was a patient person in life till I started trying to get this to work, thank you for helping me though

update: adding iDmacDrv32.dll added a white screen to the black screen, but still hangs

@Onkel hmm I dont seem to have a srtgl.exe in my task manager. is there no way I can download someones config all setup? or should I try this on another computer maybe?

 

IT WORKS ON MY OTHER COMPUTER?????

okay well ive made progress on the second computer, this is what I get now on launch

edit: placed that file on my C: drive, just need to figure out how to insert a coin and get past info screen!

edit 2: got past the info screen and can play a song, however the game is alittle laggy, ill see if its a computer issue

yeah I honestly dont know how to fix this lag, its just microstutters during songs, any ideas anyone?

;edit I should specify the game isnt lagging the audio is. I read that post that said to set windows audio to 2 channel 44.1 16bit to stop it but it doesnt seem to fix it... hmm

As of writing this, there isn't any to my knowledge. Most arcade data sites seem to consider it taboo if you emulate nesica score saving too so we likely won't be getting one any time soon.

I did that and it just took me to a discussion board about it with no links.

Theres that TechnoParrot link for it but its on UpToBox and thats banned in USA. even with VPN speeds are too slow.

@linglang, thanks for sharing how you set up GLAR. I set window size to 998x1778 and was able to run the game.
